Family of the Tri-Rune Blog Tour Day 13

First a note:  If anyone posted on their scheduled day and I never said thank you, please let me know.  I’ve been working mostly off my iPhone for the last 3 days and it never showed me when I checked.  Let’s get started:

Cheerful-And-Playful-Squirrels-4This volunteer is a big help with blog tours, cover reveals, and spreading the news of important events.  Definitely a big source of new and upcoming books of various genres.  I highly recommend wandering her blog if you’re looking for a new read.

Thank You Wyndy Dee!

Our second volunteer is the mastermind behind The D/A Dialogues along with his pet author.  Hard to tell which mind is control whenever you read the unique posts, which are always done in a conversation style.  A great way to hear about various blogging events and learn about their upcoming book.

Thank You D & Katie Sullivan!

The last volunteer of the day is a woman who will get her post fixed either at the library or when she gets home.  With any luck, she’ll have the blog tour post looking normal and legible by the time I publish this.  Check out her blog for a look at her scrapbooking projects, which have actually begun to earn her a few prizes.   There.  I’m not in trouble any more.  (YAY!  She fixed it before I hit publish, but I’m too lazy to clear up that last part.)

Thank You to Tracy Carrig!

Goal Post and Rant Before the Storm

Here we are at the birthday aftermath and the precursor to Passover.  All I can say is: I’ll probably be grumpy and a rarity this week.  My son has Spring Break until the following Tuesday.  *rest edited out*

I’m thinking of taking an extra week of ‘vacation’ before tackling Book 8 of Legends of Windemere, but May has a slew of events too.  I’m really starting to wonder how I’m supposed to succeed if I have giant blocks of time where ‘life’ won’t let me get to my writing.  Kind of unfair since several people (some of which haunt this blog and might not be aware that I’ve caught wind of their haunting) seem determined to push events toward me quitting.  I’m not talking trolls.  There are people who think I should be forced to get a ‘real job’ and go back to writing once I’m ‘comfortable’.  I’ve been in the comfortable position of life before.  You know how?  I worked my ass off to the point where I was too exhausted to do anything beyond outlining.  You know what happened?  Comfort was torn out from under me by forces beyond my control.  So, there’s no guarantee that things will work out if I get a ‘real job’.  I’m going to try to end the rant there.

It was a fun birthday week with the usual antics.  Saw ‘Captain America 2’, which is highly recommended.  Stay for the end of the credits.  Hanging out with Greg went as smoothly as it always does.  In other words, our original destination ended up being closed and then we found every restaurant we wanted to have lunch in was packed.  Took us 2 hours of wandering to find a burger joint for a place to sit and eat.  After that, we hit up a very nice bar called ‘The Thirsty Scholar’.  Had some drinks, made plans for the movie, and off we went.  All in all, it was a fun day and something I needed.  I’m still hoping to hold onto the calm I had, but . . . well, look above at that first paragraph.

Goals for the week are going to be minimal with the toddler home:

  1. Get back into biking.  Pulled a leg muscle last Sunday and haven’t been able to get back on it since.  Tried for 15 minutes and it hurt . . . a lot.  Honestly, I don’t see this one happening because of the full house going on.
  2. Work more on The Elysium Saga set up.  Lost time since I outlined Quest of the Broken-Hearted this week, which was a spontaneous idea.  Was it this week that I did that?
  3. Fiddle with the Project Phoenix idea that can solve a lot of it, but cause a new problem.  Need to bounce the idea off someone to get feedback.  Preferably someone who is listening.
  4. Play with the toddler and take him to the playground when weather is good.
  5. Try to ignore the hunger in my stomach because I’ll be sick of Matzoh by Tuesday.
  6. Keep promoting Tri-Rune.  Though I think I’m burning out on the daily marketing.  I can already feel a bout of ‘blues’ hitting me thanks to the tension in the house, which seems to be a topic I can’t shake on this post.
  7. Find reasons not to duct tape family to the ceiling in an attempt for peace and quiet.

Out of the Office and Hopefully Holding a Beer

South Street Seaport in NYC

South Street Seaport in NYC

Today I’ll be away and possibly responding to people through the iPhone.  It depends on how coherent I am after some booze.  This is the birthday getaway because Passover starts in a day or two.  That means a lot of cleaning, family, and no more pizza for a little over a week.

Enjoy the day and I’ll do the blog tour ‘Thank You’ tonight before I go to sleep.   Or tomorrow morning if need be.

Birthday Party Aftermath

Yahoo Image Search

Yahoo Image Search

Luke Callindor– You know, I’m not really sure when my birthday is.  I think it’s in the spring.

Sari– I’m kind of lost on that too.  The author really has an issue with passage of time.  I think I know why the vampires are appealing to him.  They don’t age.

Clyde– Don’t bring me into this.  My series isn’t for a few years.  You guys still have 11 books to publish and 8 to write.  Must be fun being the flagship.

5th Champion– I’m having fun . . . I don’t even get my name mentioned?  Fine.  That’s cool.  I’m just going to yell D-

Luke– Wow.  The author turned his voice off.

Nyx– My birthday is the Day of Darkness.

Trinity– Mine too.  So we’re special.

Fritz Warrenberg– Especially from this angle. *grins and falls asleep on the bar*

Nimby– If only people knew what you two did together when not in the books.  The credit card bills alone are forcing some of us to rob banks.

Sari– Forcing you?

Nimby– It was a hobby before the author starting goofing off with ‘what if Nyx and Trinity grew up together?’ ideas.  Now it’s a necessity.

Timoran Wrath– Does anybody know the purpose of the post?

Aedyn Karwyn– I believe he was going to point out that only Nyx and Trinity have birthdays and the rest of us are vague guesses.  Then he got derailed when Clyde showed up and wandered in another direction.

Darwin Slepsnor– I’m here too!  Fizzle brought me!

Fizzle– Crazy halfling stole apples!  Promised more.

Luke– This isn’t much of a post.  Maybe he’s tired or bored.

Kira Grasdon– I think he’s trying to work with too many characters here.  At his age, the author shouldn’t be pushing himself like this.

5th Champion– No.  I’m not talking until you let me use my name.

The Lich– Maybe we should end this disaster here.  It’s nice to casually say hello to everyone.  Think we should make this a thing?

Trinity– Is the wittle Lich wonely?  (The hell accent is that, author? I’m screwing with your dreams for that one.)

Luke– If we can think up any scenarios then it could be fun.  Maybe the fans have some ideas that allows us to hang around the blog and goof off.  We’re not all bad.

Clyde– Really? I ate the bartender at yesterday’s party and Nyx sent that samurai to the hospital when he accused her of cheating at cards.

Nyx– Well, we’re entertaining.  See you another time, people!

Sari– Why do you get to say that?  Have a fun weekend, everyone!

Kira– Don’t do anything we wouldn’t do.  Happy Belated Birthday to our author.  Now, who’s cleaning this place . . . where did everyone go?
