- Does writing energize or exhaust you?
Both! I’ve woken from a sound sleep too many times to count. A line will run through my head and make me pull out of traffic to jot it into my phone. I’ll cut a shower short to…

Spontaneous Cover Reveal: Chasing Bedlam
This just in. Kind of speaks for itself. Though it won’t have the blue and desktop parts. I’m just on the verge of passing out, so wanted to share.

My Inspirational Poetry:- “FIGHT TILL YOUR LAST BREATH”
TITLE:- FIGHT TILL YOUR LAST BREATH
If Blood is Showering Out of Your veins,
If the Lesions & wounds are Giving you Pain
And Even If Circumstances are Showing your Death,
In spite of that, Fight Till Your Last Breath.
No Matter If you are Sailing On a Tidal Ocean,
No Matter If conditions Prevailing give you Tension
And Even If There is No Time Left For you to Regret,
In spite of that,Fight Till Your Last Breath.
What Happen If Night Always Comes Before the Morning,
What Happens if Every second Intensity of Darkness is Increasing
And Even If, darkness is Giving Brightness a Terrible Threat,
In spite of that,Fight Till Your Last Breath.
What Happens If you feel yourself alone on this Land,
What Happens, If your Shadow Remains your Only Friend
And Even If,you are Deprived of Love From anybody as yet,
In spite of that,Fight Till…

This Week in Indie Publishing
How Self Publishing Can Create a Solid Brand
It’s a big question in the business space: Is it better to self-publish a book or pitch it to a big publisher? It comes back to why you’re publishing a book in the first place. And with self publishing becoming easier than ever, Amazon has become loaded with best-sellers.
Read the rest of this story HERE.
Persistence leads to success for Northern Virginia author
For the better part of five years, Kwame Alexander sat in a Woodbridge Panera for five hours a day, toiling away on his novel. Back in those days, the acclaimed author was living in Rippon Landing and raising his teenage daughter as she worked her way through Freedom High School. While he thought he’d found a winning formula for a children’s book, penning a tale about two, young twin brothers written entirely in poetic verse, he endured rejection…

Did Things Go To Plan? HA HA HA!
Chasing Bedlam Coming Next Week!
The hope is I’ll get it set up on Monday and make the big announcement on Tuesday, which is when I’ll send the HTML to all the volunteers. Thank you again for helping out with this.
This week didn’t exactly go as planned. That 4 section day last week must have been a fluke because it’s been a struggle to get 3 a day. I’m actually writing this on Thursday in order to use all of Friday to write. Let’s be honest. I’ll probably fail and miss finishing 2 Ichabod Brooks stories by one section. On the plus side, the story I have to get through this time has an old friend returning and I can get a section done tonight. No way I’m getting to that 3rd one and next week is the only one I have before my son gets a week off from school. This is actually EXACTLY what was going on around this time of year in 2016. Not sure if that’s a good or bad thing. Just let me get to March with at least 9 of the 12 stories under my belt. That’s all I ask at this point.
Here’s where things get really funny in regards to identical incidents. Last year, I was chugging along on Legends of Windemere: The Spirit Well and had my schedule marked up nicely. Then a snowstorm hit and the kid was home. This caused a delay and resulted in my hurting myself while shoveling. By the time I recovered, he was on his Winter Break and I was trying to figure out how to get Crossing Bedlam some more traction. I find myself in the same position with Life & Times of Ichabod Brooks and Chasing Bedlam. A plus side is that I won’t be putting a ton of money and promo stuff on ‘Bedlam’ since I’m low on funds. Windemere takes precedence, so I have to depend on word of mouth and the reviews of strangers to push ‘Bedlam’. Needless to say, I’m trying to prepare myself for pain.
(ADDITION: Friday ended up being a snow day too. Tried to get back in the saddle and got shot before I could reach the horse.)
Writing and shoveling was really it for the week. At least it should be ending on a good note. By the time this post goes live, I’ll be . . . probably on my way to a mall food court for lunch. Already got the tickets for our Valentine’s Day movie, which will be JOHN WICK CHAPTER 2. Harder to pull off than one would think since the local theaters are putting a lot of faith in 50 Shades. The nearest one isn’t even showing John Wick, so we’re going a little further and have to catch a later showing. Nothing says fun like hanging around a mall for 2 hours. The stores we typically wander around are gone or would result in the wife spending too much money. I’m looking at you, Hot Topic. Then again, that place isn’t what it used to be.
I’ll get back to the one or two comments on this post tonight. Maybe. We taped THE NICE GUYS a few weeks ago and really should get around to watching that. Although, that might only stop me from writing. It’s hard to think straight since I’m all achy and chilled from shoveling.
One thing I’m trying to figure out is what I had planned for April. This is when the next Windemere book is supposed to go live. I wanted to start with a full week of posts that focus on Luke Callindor’s relationships, which are all at risk in Ritual of the Lost Lamb. I have Nyx, Sari, and Kira as the main ones. The thing is that I’m not sure if I should do individual ones for the others. Timoran, Delvin, and Dariana could be in one post since they don’t have the lover/sister thing with Luke. Fizzle should definitely have a solo one, but I keep wondering if I’m missing someone else. This would be the week that leads up to my birthday and the release. Believe that hits right on Passover and my son’s Spring Break too. Just can’t win around this time of year.
I had other thoughts swimming around, but I’m not sure what to do about them. New ideas and reforged ones that connect to those dang superheroes. Still debating on if I should keep them in Windemere or move them back to Earth. All depends on how much freedom of setting I want since Earth means I need to pick real places. Level of technology and magic are influences too. One of these days I’ll figure it out.
Goals of the week?
- Publish Chasing Bedlam and do promos.
- Write 2 more Ichabod Brooks stories.
- Poke at the ‘never to be published’ idea when I can’t write.
- Laundry
- Watch JOHN WICK 2.
- Watch more Soul Eater.

Angry Hero Anonymous Meeting: Now With Glow in the Dark Nametags
Timoran Wrath– “I guess we are supposed to talk about our tempers. Not really sure why I am here since I have control over mine.”
Lloyd Tenay– “Same here. The kid can be a bit of a rager though.”
Cassidy- “First of all, you have very little impulse control when it comes to killing. You took out five people on the trip here and we only walked down the block. Second of all, I have good reason to be angry. The b*&@$ took my . . . what was that?”
Lloyd– “Ha Ha! You got censored!”
Nyx– “This is so stupid. I haven’t lost my temper in a long time. Not in the way I used to anyway. Mess with my friends and I’ll burn you to a crisp, but that’s a reason for me losing control.”
Luke Callindor– “I guess I snap at times, but only when I’m backed into a corner. Even then I might not go too far. Maybe we should give tips on how to avoid losing our tempers.”
Lloyd– “Killing, watching television, killing, needlepoint, killing, eat a really good pizza, and killing. Even better if you can combine some of those together.”
Nyx– “This is why we rarely invite you to hang out. Just think about how you can make a mistake if you aren’t thinking clearly. The thought of being responsible for hurting my friends is-”
Cassidy– “Easy for you to say and do when you aren’t living in a lawless wasteland. You have no idea how much one’s anger can keep them alive. People will stay away from a maniac.”
Timoran– “I wish to point out that you travel with a maniac. In fact, you sought him out for help.”
Lloyd– “And the big man scores a point. To be fair, it also helps to be friends with the craziest person in the room. What do you do to remain calm?”
Nyx– “Good question. I always thought barbarians are born knowing how to keep their rage under control. That doesn’t make a lot of sense though. Such behavior has to be learned, right?”
Timoran– “It is difficult to explain. Our temper tantrums are usually allowed to go unchallenged in the hopes that we learn control. The true training does not come until we are five. We are drilled on accessing our rage little by little until we tame the inner beast entirely. Some go too far and require a firmer hand, but every barbarian learns control at some point. It is more of a cultural thing than anything the rest of you can do. Not to mention you’re all adults and harder to change than a child.”
Cassidy– “Don’t give Lloyd an opening to a joke like that.”
Lloyd– “Awww, she knows me too well.”
Luke– “Adults have to learn control too. There are happy children that go through tough times and become angry adults. It might not be easy, but there has to be a way. Those of us in Windemere could do it through collecting new happy memories and finding reasons to remain calm. Not sure what the Bedlam people would do.”
Dawn Addison– “You strangle your enemies with moonbeams!”
Nyx– “Nope. Not dealing with that nutcase. I’m out!”
Timoran– “I believe I have something to tend to as well. It requires Luke’s help.”
Cassidy– “I’m just going to head out. She’s not worth the bullet.”
Lloyd– “Wait up! I have too many people to kill before I die!”
Dawn– “Nobody lets me have any fun.”

…Authors… what do yeez want the artwork on yer book covers to do?
…let there be no ambiguity… the most important part of a scribbler’s product is always the content… the writing itself… good material is the best advertisement for yer WURK… the single element more likely than any to get yeez repeat readership… however, as emb’dy who’s ever written a book will tell yeez… there are other things to get involved with to help get yer wee masterpieces circulating and selling…
amongst these is the artwork… the wrapper… the visual magnet that draws the eyes of the casual browser around the shelves in Waterstones or the surfers of reams upon reams of Auntie Amazon’s web pages… I recall not so long ago when visiting into London on the vacation breaks from the Middle East, piling basketloads of printed books from Waterstones in Regent Street, usually from a glance-and-buy… ending up paying by the kilo for my reading material for the ensuing…
