I’m genuinely surprised and happy that I pulled off releasing this book.  I had all of the pieces together, but the week was crazy.  So, I nearly forgot to hit publish and ended up doing it in the midst of getting ready for work.  Thankfully, I had set everything up on Kindle prior to Friday.  Of course, I’m not 100% certain I remembered all of the promo ideas.  Think I got everything.  Oh well, I’m kind of burnt out, so I’ll go over it again once I recover.

Speaking of promos, I totally forgot about Thursdays.  Typically, this would be ‘Immortal Wars’, but I wanted to push Anarchy for the whole month.  So, I didn’t put any promos on there alongside the ‘Immortal Wars’ stuff.  Oops.  Think I’m going to do faction poems during the 5 day weekend when I have time.  There are 4 groups involved in this story and I have 4 days to cover.  This also makes me wonder what I should do with Thursdays once ‘Immortal Wars’ is done in December.  I’m leaning towards making it a poetry day, but it’s tough thinking of good poem topics.  At least I have time to figure it out.

School started for me on Monday and on Thursday for my son.  He did great with no issues like previous years.  It’s going to be a lot of work, so we’re hoping to get a good system down for homework and getting rest.  He’s taking American Sign Language too and has already absorbed a lot in just 2 days.  My schedule is going to be fun, but not really worth posting about.  As before, most of what I do will involve students and I won’t post about their lives here.  All I can say is that I’m looking forward to this year.  Well, I’m still trying to get used to waking up and getting started at 5:30 AM.  That might take a few weeks since all the Jewish holidays are showing up to give us partial weeks.

Writing did get a little progress, which was surprising.  I wanted to get some work done during my free periods, but I can’t bring my laptop.  The casing is broken, so I can’t close it without things popping.  Can’t afford a new one for a while.  The only other option was to print out War of Nytefall: Eulogy and edit by hand.  Forgot how quickly and thoroughly this is when compared to computer work.  I managed to get a chapter section done in a 40 minute period instead of my usual 2-3 hours on a computer.  No distractions at all.  I might have to do this more often, but the home printer is small and black ink goes quickly.  It turns into 2 editing runs too.  I’ll be checking the manuscript as I add my changes.  Don’t remember the last time I edited like this either.  Think it was 2012 or 2013 when I started publishing.

With Rosh Hashana, I have my son and that means fun this weekend.  At least if we can muster the energy after school started.  Still have some Lego sets to do and I promised one day of video games.  Hoping to see family too.  Beyond that, it might just be resting and getting whatever else we need for school.  Maybe we’ll do an art/editing day where we work on our projects.  Should probably do a movie too since we have so much time.  I showed him ‘Raiders of the Lost Ark’ last weekend and had him close his eyes at the scary parts.  I don’t know ‘Temple of Doom’ by memory, so we’ll skip that to watch ‘Indiana Jones & the Last Crusade’.  One day, we’ll get to the ‘Lord of the Rings’ movies, but I still don’t think he can make it beyond a 2 hour film.

Speaking of movies and TV, I did watch a bunch since I was exhausted by the end of the day.  ‘Rurouni Kenshin: The Final’ was a movie adaptation of the last story arc in the manga.  It was good, but I got lost a little with characters not always being named.  Still the action was fun.  I watched an anime called ‘Samurai Warriors’, which is based off the game and didn’t hold my interest very well.  Took me a day to watch 13 episodes, but I don’t remember much.  Think it’s a big sacrificial show period for me while I get back into the swing of things.  ‘Wise Man’s Grandchild’ is the newest anime I’m watching and it has my interest.  So, I’m not touching it when I’m exhausted.  Trying to give it a chance.  I might watch a classic after this such as ‘Cowboy Bebop’, ‘Outlaw Star’, or ‘Trigun’.  Guessing I lost a bunch of people.

About Charles Yallowitz

Charles E. Yallowitz was born, raised, and educated in New York. Then he spent a few years in Florida, realized his fear of alligators, and moved back to the Empire State. When he isn't working hard on his epic fantasy stories, Charles can be found cooking or going on whatever adventure his son has planned for the day. 'Legends of Windemere' is his first series, but it certainly won't be his last.
