I remember waiting for the ice cream truck as a kid…I couldn’t wait to hear him coming down the road…what great memories, thanks for sharing!

You’re welcome. I always want to go the ice cream truck, but I feel foolish as an adult.

LOL I would go if our town had one…don’t care what they think, the best memories of summer can be made over an ice cream π

Yes! I am patiently waiting for mine to finish filling…ice cream is in the freezer. Now if I could get past this writer’s block things would be perfect!

One day, I’d love to see a crowd of adults pounce on an ice cream truck.

In our downtown, the adults don’t so much pounce as saunter quickly π

Can’t quibble with the choice of the ice cream man, but for me it’s the sound of sprinklers. We didn’t have a pool, but we loved to run through the sprinklers.

Same here. So many great summer noises.

I grew up in the sticks with no ice cream man, but my son is hardwired to hear him clear across the neighborhood. He chases the poor man every summer (even though we live two doors down from a drive-in with great custard). There’s just something magical about that sound!

One of my sweetheart’s co-workers told their children when they heard the music from an ice cream truck, it meant the ice cream was all gone. I haven’t decided yet how I feel about that. π

I’m thinking they just didn’t want to spend the money. But it’s ice cream! π

Never deprive a child of ice cream unless it’s for health reasons. I’m thinking lactose intolerance.

Those were the best sounds of summer growing up living in the city! My poor kids missed out because we moved into a very quiet suburb:( But lucky for them when we have to run errands in the city, yep, im one of those moms that will chase the ice cream truck if I hear those bells!!!

They have ice cream trucks out here in the suburbs. I’ve been hearing that a lot of places have banned them because of the noise. Such a sad state of affairs.
