My head feels like it weighs a ton thanks to a cold and the weather by some high pressure freak thing. I can barely focus on what I’m reading, much less writing my level.
The plus of today is that I have set up a special eBook project that might be going live in a week or two. Bestiary of Blatherhorn Vale is formatted and under copywrite. If my wife can make the cover art that I want then it will be my first published poetry collection.
The experimentation part? I’m not going to market this beyond KDP Select, Novelspot’s free ‘Just Out’ service, and Bookpinning. All the free stuff. I want to see how it goes. It’ll be .99 cents because it’s not even 50 pages. So this is going to be an experiment of minimal touching advertising. If things go well then I’ll do the same for ‘Catalysts’ whenever that comes out. It means I can put most of my force behind the novels. Guess we’ll see what happens when the time comes.

Wishing you good health and success!

Thanks. My sinuses should behave when the weather stops being a b-word.

You can blame green embers for the cold.

I don’t think it’s a cold this time. My sinuses are very weather sensitive, so the 40’s to 80’s jump combined with an incoming storm is making me wish for death. Now my ears are clogged. I just hope my dad comes home in time to watch the toddler this afternoon. I’d be overrun in seconds.

There must be something you can blame him for. Have you tried the conventional Zyrtec or Claritin yet?

Not yet. I’m stuck in the house in case I get called to pick up the toddler. Got abandoned by the other house person while I was in the shower.

What! I think he had his first! I am going to blame him! Still though, I am right there with him in this. It sucks. Charles hoping you get better soon! 🙂

The high pressure in the air stopped, so I’m doing a lot better. Hope you’re doing better too. Also, my son started it all. Blame the toddler.

Wait… what is this blame things on me for?!?! Ahh, okay, fine. I take full and total responsibility for the blame! 🙂

I got a better idea. I have a friendly who drunkenly signed a scapegoat contract. Really it’s a Friendly’s place mat, but he doesn’t know. We’ll blame him for everything.

What a brilliant idea, I need someone to sign one of those for me! Although I think Ionia has my signature somewhere on one of them scapegoat contracts… I am okay with this.

Coincidentally, I was considering employing a similar strategy with Baron of Blood.

It’ll be interesting to see how strong KDP Select is on its own. I’m guessing it is going to be strong for new releases, but slow down as time progresses. Amazon loves new releases.

Very true. If the new releases do well enough on their own, with just KDP Select and no advertising – then maybe it will be worth investing in some advertisement one the “new release” appeal wears off.

Definitely. I’m learning that doing everything in one blast at the beginning can lead to a sudden slow down. Though, it could be different for a second book since the first one is around.
