Poetry Day: The Vulgorag

The Orc Disaster (That Time I was Reincarnated as a Slime)

(Another beast created by poem.  I should get back into doing these, but nothing really comes to mind.)

A vicious crumbling
Sending razor shards
Of ancient stone
As a great form stirs
Rending the mountain
From foot to peak
The Vulgorag steps out
Into a world of light
Unprepared for a being
Birthed from purest dark
A quartet of wings
Composed of heavy shadow
And dripping poison blood
Corrupting air and water
Twisting all
Who are too slow to hide
Iron muscles flex
With every solid step
Creaking in contentment
After centuries of rigidity
This emperor of horrors
Releases his deafening calls
A cacophony of screeches
Shattering all minds
Within one hundred miles
The Vulgorag is free
Beginning the Age of Terror

About Charles Yallowitz

Charles E. Yallowitz was born, raised, and educated in New York. Then he spent a few years in Florida, realized his fear of alligators, and moved back to the Empire State. When he isn't working hard on his epic fantasy stories, Charles can be found cooking or going on whatever adventure his son has planned for the day. 'Legends of Windemere' is his first series, but it certainly won't be his last.
