Poetry Day: My Stress-Birthed Demon

Yahoo Image Search

(Wasn’t really subtle with the title, huh?  One of the few poems that I tried to rhyme and feel it worked out decently.)

I close my eyes

Lift my head to the skies

Allowing the melody

To take me to serenity

My stress fights back

With a savage attack

Forcing thought after thought

That always haunt

I twist away

Letting my body sway

Avoiding the dark

That hunts me like a shark

Threatening my sanity

Hoping to shred my humanity

The song will come to pass

Leaving me in the morass

Back where I wish to leave

Letting my soul grieve

About Charles Yallowitz

Charles E. Yallowitz was born, raised, and educated in New York. Then he spent a few years in Florida, realized his fear of alligators, and moved back to the Empire State. When he isn't working hard on his epic fantasy stories, Charles can be found cooking or going on whatever adventure his son has planned for the day. 'Legends of Windemere' is his first series, but it certainly won't be his last.
