I love tigers. Even did a big post about them on February 6, 2022. Missed stuff about the rare Golden Tiger, which there are only 30 of in the world. I’ll add a video about them if I can find one. For now, enjoy the memes and the day.

I didn’t know a golden (strawberry) tiger existed! To think they are only found in captive tigers! (According to the Zoological Wildlife Foundation website.)

I wasn’t aware of them either. Seen pictures, but didn’t realize what they were.

I wonder what aspect of captivity brings about this color pattern. But that’s what the ZWF article mentioned.

It’s more breeding line. They all seem to come from a specific ancestor who had the recessive gene.

What a gorgeous cat! I loved the memes, Charles! And I can recite the first part of Bale’s poem – had to learn it in high school!
I hope you and your son had a great birthday celebration with a movie! Are you going to see Deadpool and Wolverine?

Thanks. Probably wait for the movie to hit TV. He’s iffy on violent stuff, so it’s better to do it at home in case he wants out.

I think that’s very wise. We preview everything for Eli (4 1/2) because even witches are frightening to him.

Tigers are such beautiful animals. The Golden Tiger is especially wonderful. Like many others of your commenters, I didn’t know about them.
Amd I love your memes!

They’re interesting. Seems to be a rare recessive gene that was only kept alive due to zoo breeding programs.

That’s interesting. I wonder how often it would show up in the wild. Since there aren’t any, I suspect it’d very rarely.

Doesn’t show up in the wild due to natural selection eliminating the gene from the gene pools. Just captivity where those born with it can survive.
