Just Cheer Up! (Depression and Anxiety Memes)

I’m going to try to put a little humor on a rough topic.  With this week being so stressful, I felt really anxious and down.  No panic attacks, but I had trouble finding the urge to do anything at night.  There was a lethargy that cloaked me and I even went to bed early a few times, which is unusual.  I brought these issues up to some people and most were understanding.  Others seemed to be more interested in spouting advice that one swears would be found in a badly written self-help book.  You know the one.  It was written by a person who has never suffered from depression or anxiety, but they’ve read about it or known someone who they haven’t helped in the least.  Anyway, here we go with a few laughs and I threw some serious ones in too:

About Charles Yallowitz

Charles E. Yallowitz was born, raised, and educated in New York. Then he spent a few years in Florida, realized his fear of alligators, and moved back to the Empire State. When he isn't working hard on his epic fantasy stories, Charles can be found cooking or going on whatever adventure his son has planned for the day. 'Legends of Windemere' is his first series, but it certainly won't be his last.

  1. Super memes. Maybe those who see these will have a little more empathy. I especially like the last one.

  3. 😀 I love the first meme the most.

By chance, did you ever read my “Depression for Dummies” article? It’s on James Edgar Skye’s blog and I wrote it after feeling frustrated at bad advice.

Great memes. I especially love the last one.

Yes, humor on a rough topic. I loved and smiled at all the quotes, until the last one. You just don’t know what someone is going through. Really. So, be kind. Period. Thank you, Charles.

  6. I stress over everything, but don’t admit any problems. I am, however, on three different hypertension drugs. Tonight, I’m adding a bit of whiskey to the mix. I don’t believe life is supposed to be this way. I really am cheering for you from behind this bottle.
