Within the pages of Legends of Windemere: Allure of the Gypsies, you get to meet the Callindor family. It wasn’t easy to choose who to pull for this interview. Talos Callindor is a legend and trained his grandson Luke to be a warrior. His wife, Magella Callindor, is a powerful caster, but she stays out of the fighting and is rather enigmatic. Ilan Callindor would be a fun interview since he is entirely against his son’s decision to runaway from home and become an adventurer. He would prefer Luke followed in his footsteps and became a blacksmith. All good choices, but one is more entertaining than the others.
Vixen Callindor married Ilan Callindor after his adventuring party had a disastrous adventure. Many of his friends died and he took solace in Vixen’s arms. Ilan retired, they married, and Luke Callindor was born. So, if you’re going to get any juicy stories about our young hero, it’s best to ask his mother.
While not a Callindor by blood, Vixen is an expert jewelry maker and gem-worker. She is responsible for embedding jewels in Ilan’s works. A very calm and polite person, she has never been a warrior. A loving mother and wife, she can be stern with her husband and son. Though, she tends to spend more time apologizing for Luke than keeping him in line. Vixen gets her revenge by freely sharing embarrassing stories of our young hero.
So, step on up and ask her whatever you want. Learn about the city of Haven, stories about Luke’s childhood, or her thoughts on anything.

Did Luke have a pet as a child? How was he disciplined?

He brought all manner of injured animals home when he was a child. Sprites, chipmunks, snails, a baby dread boar, and so many others. I wouldn’t call them pets. The only real pet he’s had is his dog. He found Stiletto when he was a child and the two grew up together.
Discipline wasn’t needed as much as one would think with Luke. He tended to get himself hurt or scared with his antics, which was punishment enough. Also, he trained with his grandfather, which involved various penalties for mistakes. I felt terrible punishing him at home when he was worked so hard everywhere else.

I remembered about Stiletto, but not the others. Sounds like he might have been a bit of a scientist,
“Awe Mom, you really noticed my pain and efforts.”

Not sure what a scientist is, but he is a forest tracker. They love animals and bond with nature, which is where all these temporary pets came from.

What was Luke’s nickname as a child?

We were so busy yelling his real name that we never had a nickname for him. His oldest friend, Alyssa Goldheart, used to call him ‘rabbit nose’ because Luke’s nose would twitch when frustrated.
