Unraveling

It starts with a single thread
Pulled without a care
Then another thread
Followed by a third
Until the tapestry of life
Unravels in your hands

You try to stitch it back
Needing time to think
And see the truth
The unraveling comes fast
With chaos feeding all

I try to find a path
With screaming and talking
Pushing in my face
How can I stem the tide
When life won’t give me peace

Is the stitching too far gone?
Rotted beyond repair
The threads falling
Through my fingers
And taken by the wind

About Charles Yallowitz

Charles E. Yallowitz was born, raised, and educated in New York. Then he spent a few years in Florida, realized his fear of alligators, and moved back to the Empire State. When he isn't working hard on his epic fantasy stories, Charles can be found cooking or going on whatever adventure his son has planned for the day. 'Legends of Windemere' is his first series, but it certainly won't be his last.

Oh my…that really is a very light and beautiful way to speak about a very difficult thing…seen a lot of unravelings in my life…it’s actually a very sad poem indeed. 😦 But I love it anyway!
