I’m not sure I’ve asked this question, but I’ve been thinking about this lately. I started here to blog about my book. So, I began blogging for me. Then, people showed interest and I began blogging for others. I was obsessed with likes, views, and comments. I don’t look at numbers any more, but I still try to blog what I think people might take an interest in.
I’m wondering if this is wrong. I get a little down when I make a post and nobody comments. This really seems to hurt when I put up a piece of creative writing like Nimby & The Thief King on the CSB. I need to stop this. I don’t know what to do to gain comments like other people. I have no idea why some of the constant comment makers have been silent for weeks. The truth is that it’s not something within my control. I worry that it means I’ll have less support for my third book, but most of my real life friends remained silent for the second book. I’ll survive and push on.
I see blogs where it’s obvious that the person doesn’t cater to an audience and others where that’s all they do. Probably smart to fall in the middle, but not fret about the comment levels. Just go and figure it out. Post what I feel like for the day and forget the schedule.
Who do you blog for?

Paranormal non-fiction book release!

The last thing Scarlett Verandia wanted was to move across the country, leaving her soul mate behind. However, with nightmares plaguing her every night, she couldn’t help but think a change of scenery might help. When she arrived at Cold Spring, everything seemed quiet and peaceful, but as she learned more about the town and discovered a journal over a century old, her nightmares were only the beginning.
All of a sudden she was having visions, learning of curses and being prepared for something which she did not know. With strange abilities manifesting within her, she learns her life may be in danger, and the only way to survive would be to embrace her dark side.

It was erotic writing week on the Community Storyboard last week. I entered the fray (or was it an orgy?) with a set of 7 poems stretching out a love scene for the entire week. Managed to finish it with the fever, but I’m wondering how it came out.
So for anyone curious. Here are the links to the 7 parts:
As stated this is the first morning since Tuesday that I woke up without a fever. Still have the aches, congestion, and chills. Yet, I can think enough to function a bit on the laptop. I’ve been mostly on my iPhone when I had the coherency.
I know I’ve been silent on blogs. I’ve been trying to read and find ways to comment, but my mind has been nearly fried. It’s still iffy this morning. Took me two hours to read through my usuals and hit the ‘like’ button, which seems to have not worked most of the time. I wish I could say I got a lot of work done in my absence, but all I’ve been doing is napping . . . and watching Wreck-It-Ralph . . . three times. I slipped two Harry Potter movies in there too. At least I think it was Harry Potter. I remember British accents coming from the TV.
Anyway, the goals I have for this week are rather simple:
5-Star Review of Weed Therapy by Mark Paxson.
I waited to read this book until I had a day away from work to enjoy it. I am so glad that I did. If you haven’t had a chance to check out Mark’s writing yet, please go pay him a visit over at:
Kelvin Rockwell’s thirteen-year-old son, Spencer, is doing what teenage boys do, ignoring his father and growing apart. His four-year-old, Jason, is still planted firmly in his ‘mommy and me’ phase. And his wife, Holly, has spent years demonstrating apathy towards their marriage. The emotional reward of family is disappearing from Kelvin’s life.
In an attempt to find an answer to his unhappiness, Kelvin leaves his family for a few days to visit Santo Cielo, a remote village along the coast of Baja California. There, he experiences a life far removed from his own and explores his frustrations…

Something had changed in the last week – in the last twenty-four hours, actually – and I wanted to know what it was. I sat up abruptly, scowling right back at him.
“Don’t lie to me, Bradley. You may pay me to have sex with you, but I’m not stupid.”
His eyebrows rose at my words. “What does that have to do with anything?”
“Before me, had you ever done this? Paid someone?”
Now he sat up, sighing as he tossed back the covers. Standing up, he walked over to the bar. “Do you want something to drink?”
“No,” I huffed. “I want you to answer me.”
He stiffened, his back straightening even as he poured a drink before replacing the cap. “I don’t like your tone. And I don’t like when you question me.”
“Well, too fucking bad.”
He whirled around, the drink in his hand sloshing over the rim a little, his face growing stormy. “Excuse me?”
“You heard me. I know you have perfect hearing.”
He took a drink, his eyes never looking away from me, but I saw the smirk on his face before he did so. I didn’t say anything else. I waited for him to answer me.
“No.” His sudden words startled me and I jumped at them. “When I met you, it was the first time.”
I cocked my head to the side, raising a brow at him. “Why?”
He shook his head. “I don’t think it’s any of your business.”
I hopped out of the bed and started picking up my clothes. “I guess you won’t mind if I leave and go back home then.”
“What?” He sounded incredulous, but I didn’t look at him. “Lucy, stop.”
“No.” I began getting dressed, my back facing him. “I think leaving is a great idea.”
