I wish for the perfect day
Where nothing is on my shoulders
And the future will not turn bleak
No errands on the list
Or responsibilities to cause stress
Everything is in others hands
So that I may rest
That is my perfect day
Sleeping the exhaustion away
Without leaping at work
Before the sun begins to rise
No planning for meals
Which are already on the way
I have nothing overhead
Location is wherever
As long as I can breathe
No accusations of selfishness
Or a sense that this is fleeting
Anxiety curdling the day
Just let me rest
And enjoy my respite
(Thank you to Quiall for the subject request. What would everyone else want for a single, no questions asked Perfect day?)

Oh man, I totally hear you! Your poem equals my thoughts exactly. And throw in enough money to eat out all three meals (or at least two good ones), plus a movie I’m dying to see and that equals a great day in my book.

I think I’d just like to stay in the house all day. Movies tend to equate with dealing with people. Haven’t had a theater to myself since college days. 🙂

I’m not crazy about rude people in theaters either. But I’d like to see Star Wars on the big screen.

Kind of meant people in general. Just not a fan of being in a crowded theater these days. Going to have to wait a while before I can see the new Star Wars.

My ‘perfect’ days would be made of many perfect scenarios. Friends, family, anime, music and just good vibes.

Interesting. A series of perfect things instead of one.

Yes, because a day is made of many parts not just one.

Oh, I could fill several perfect days: long walks in sunshine and crisp temps, a comfortable chair and a good book, movies I planned to see and missed, and gourmet meals provided at whim! Maybe most of all, both my children for a visit at the same time…
Thanks for this lovely respite of thought!

I’d need to be pinched to make sure I wasn’t dreaming.

You’re all going to gag, but my perfect day would be… working. I’m an on-call temp and I’d be overjoyed to sit for an eight-hour day in the same office and not have to rush from site to site, choking down lunch as I drive.
Pleasant co-workers would help, of course.
