Ichabod Brooks & the City of Beasts (Cover by Nio Mendoza)
In a time of heroes, a man will take any job to provide for his family.
Ichabod Brooks has earned a reputation for taking the jobs most men and women fear to challenge. This reputation has brought him to the charred remains of a small village nestled within the hills and forest of Ralian. The ruins are a source of strange monsters that terrorize the countryside and repeatedly elude the local guards and hunters. The few brave souls who have entered the creatures’ lair have yet to come out alive or dead.
The chances of survival are slim, but that generous payment is too much for Ichabod to resist. After all, a man and his family have to eat.

It’s only going to be in eBook form though. Not sure if that will be a problem.

Charles Yallowitz has a cover for a new read that is about as cool as you’ll see anywhere. This totally rocks and the new book sounds like a real winner. I understand it’s a shorter read. Perfect for a rainy afternoon stuck indoors this summer.

So do I.
Looks like I’ll have to wait to find out, though, unless there’s a sample of the first chapter somewhere….?
Although I still have plenty of books on my to-read list including Beginning of a Hero which I’d forgotten I’d already bought. So I can wait if I must.

I probably should put a teaser up. It’s such a short tale that it’s hard to pick something that won’t give a massive chunk away. I’ll see what I can do though.

Yeah, that would make it difficult. 😦
Personally I don’t even know how to pick a good teaser…. not yet.
All I use so far is the same “first insert-percentage-here” that sites like Amazon offer up as free samples.

I try to go with pieces that are less than 1,000 words and have something catchy. Revealing characters more than plot with an early action scene or a dialogue can be helpful. It gets harder and harder for me with the big series.

Shades of Beowulf! Charles E. Yallowitz has a new story coming out soon at an Amazon Marketplace near you … and for only 99 cents! The cover alone is worth so much more … the story, no doubt, will be priceless!

Thanks for the reblog. Beowulf, huh? Seems like a lofty aspiration. 🙂
