24 HOURS LEFT FOR THE LEGENDS OF WINDEMERE THUNDERCLAP CAMPAIGN!
This post is the last ditch effort to get to 100 supports, which means I need 20 more volunteers by noon tomorrow. Will this be easy? No. Am I tired of promoting this undead horse? Yes. So, this is it. After this post, I sit back and leave the campaign in the hands of fate. The next time you’ll hear about it is Sunday when I discuss my experience with Thunderclap.
Now for blatant cuteness:

I really hope you get the support you need Charles. If not that you can at least learn something from the experience – even if it is a bit galling.

Thanks. Fingers crossed here. It’s up to 84 now. I probably won’t find out the verdict until tomorrow night even though it ends at noon.

Thanks. He’s already taken on a few climbing walls. He hasn’t figure out that calling for help isn’t the preferred way to get down.

Hi Charles – you’ve been toiling with this for quite a while now – I found that Thundercap wanted to get all my email contacts (which I allowed because, like you, they’re all authors) – so that may be off- putting for many would-be supporters.
Good luck with it 🙂

I’ve been wondering about that too. A few people admitted that’s why they didn’t do it. The strange thing is that I didn’t see a warning about Thunderclap getting at my email contacts when I signed up. I saw the ‘permission’ to post on my Facebook, Twitter, and Tumblr. Nothing about contacts, so I wonder if my anti-ad stuff did something.

I got the FB, Twitter and Tumblr stuff too, maybe it was that, not emails, but things like that usually put people off – to be honest, I only went ahead with it because the contacts they got didn’t include family and business contacts.

Yeah. I don’t think they go for contacts, so much as you give them permission to post the promo if the campaign is successful. I joined a few that ended a week ago and the promos went live without me even knowing. I haven’t heard anything from Thunderclap since, so I know they’re not doing anything with my contact list.
