Music Behind Your Lids

Choose a random song
Off whatever you have at hand
Finger on play
You close your eyes
And focus on the colored sounds

An adventure in unknown lands
Or visiting the past
Every beat will guide you
As a story unfolds within your mind
For a handful of minutes

I smell the smoke on this one
Couples dancing in old wear
With liquor on the lam
Running from cops
When they bust down the hidden door

Choose a song and close your eyes
To clear the psychic webs
Drift upon imagination’s wings
And see what you will find
Maybe write it down

About Charles Yallowitz

Charles E. Yallowitz was born, raised, and educated in New York. Then he spent a few years in Florida, realized his fear of alligators, and moved back to the Empire State. When he isn't working hard on his epic fantasy stories, Charles can be found cooking or going on whatever adventure his son has planned for the day. 'Legends of Windemere' is his first series, but it certainly won't be his last.

Cowboy Bebop! Love how you used the noir sense of it in your poem. (And always glad to meet another anime fan.)
