Monster Maker Fun!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3c6BdY8m1C4

Long ago, there was a game that a few people played with me.  I was the creative fantasy author, so these people thought it would be fun to give me nonsense words.  My job was to create a monster, location, or something from that word.  It had to be on the spot and was a great flexing of my imagination.  Most things became monsters because that seemed easier and many of the words were nouns.  It was a lot of fun and helped me hone my skills.  It also kept me occupied when I was bored.

So, I’m thinking of having fun with this again, but I need help.  Please feel free to throw a few strange words into the comments.  A week from this Monday, I’ll start posting ‘Monsters of WordPress’ or something funny like that.  An entire week of using the words as monsters, magic items, or whatever else comes to mind.  I’m saying monsters only because that tends to be where my mind goes.  I’ll be giving credit to the person who gave the word too.

Edit:  Sorry for the confusion.  The trick was to create words that don’t exist like Hekunifrau or Splechtoad.

Let’s see what happens.

About Charles Yallowitz

Charles E. Yallowitz was born, raised, and educated in New York. Then he spent a few years in Florida, realized his fear of alligators, and moved back to the Empire State. When he isn't working hard on his epic fantasy stories, Charles can be found cooking or going on whatever adventure his son has planned for the day. 'Legends of Windemere' is his first series, but it certainly won't be his last.

How fun! I’m late to the party, so if you have more than you want just ignore. These are based on actual words (in caps) that I added to. It would be interesting to see what monsters you create based on the root word, if you’re so inclined. DASYPOEDIDAEwahl, JACINTHEwoky, and JETTATURAthicus.

    • I’ll see what I can do. Going to run these posts from next Monday to the following Monday. This way I cover my son’s Spring Break with fun stuff while I’m not able to be on the computer all day.

You certainly don’t want to forget the legendary Krimkiklekawanamung. Monster week without a Krimkiklekawanamung is no monster week at all. (I’m kidding of course. Looks like you have your work cut out for you as it is so I won’t be overly offended if you skip on this magnificent beast.)
