Call for Volunteers! (I Have a Form this Time!)

CALLING FOR VOLUNTEERS FOR 2 EVENTS!

We’re getting close to the debut of Legends of Windemere: Family of the Tri-Rune.  All I need is the cover art and then it’ll be 2-3 days of hype.  Still, it’s not too early to get volunteers for these events.

  • Cover Reveal–  This is a simple revelation of the cover, book blurb, and my author information.  I’ll be sending an HTML file of this to all volunteers about 1-2 days before it has to go up.  Since I don’t have the cover or a clear completion time, I can’t give an exact date.  I apologize for this, but I’d like to get volunteers without doing a last minute scramble to get my book out.  Timing is everything.
  • April Blog Tour–  Like last time, I will give a day to each volunteer to make their post and I’ll do a thank you post in return.  Any authors who join will have it mentioned in that post along with any social media sites and their Amazon sales site.  The document at the bottom will make gathering this information a lot easier.  Again, this will come in the form of an HTML file that you simply copy and paste into your post screen.

Thank you to anyone who volunteers and please spread the word.  Also, please use the document, which will make things easier to keep track of.  Thanks again.

About Charles Yallowitz

Charles E. Yallowitz was born, raised, and educated in New York. Then he spent a few years in Florida, realized his fear of alligators, and moved back to the Empire State. When he isn't working hard on his epic fantasy stories, Charles can be found cooking or going on whatever adventure his son has planned for the day. 'Legends of Windemere' is his first series, but it certainly won't be his last.

I’ve read the first two books of the Series and loved them (writing a reviews for them now, long overdue), and currently reading Book 3, Allure of the Gypsies. It’s a wonderful YA fantasy series by an amazing author, Charles Yallowitz. He is getting close to the debut of: Legends of Windemere: Family of the Tri-Rune.

He is looking for volunteers for two (2) events:
    *Cover Reveal
    *Blog Tour

Let’s do something extaordinary and help a gifted author who is always going above and beyond to help other writers promote their work. I want the word spread across the entire blogosphere. I know I’m volunteering for both! This is for my Fizzle…

Sorry Charles, didn’t realize that my little post would show up in your comments. (face/palm) I would’ve thought by now I would by out of the toddler stage of WP, but I guess not.

      • A blog tour is what an author does to spread the word of their newly released book. The author sends either a Word Document or an HTML file of the post that volunteer blogs will post. This typically includes the cover art, book blurb, author bio, author photo, social media for the author, and review blurbs from previous books. This part is a simple copy and paste job that I’ll be sending the 3-4 step directions for.

They divide the volunteers throughout the time period. For example, I’m using the month of April. Each volunteer gets a day assigned where they make a post for the released book. Their post goes up on that day and the author makes a thank you post in return.

Sounds easy enough. Count me in–remind me though so I can have it ready. Thanks Charles>KB

      • No problem. Once I get the cover art, I’ll be sending the info for that with an HTML. I’ll do the same with the blog tour along with a schedule. I want to make it as easy as possible for people. Thanks for the help.

I am a bit late to write to here, but I’d love to help you with the cover reveal!
If I can help you in any other way also, do let me know! This months in my magazine we are featuring our Fantasy writing section for the first time, so if that would help you in any way, let me know. I would love to feature you or do an interview or whatever!

    • I’d be happy to do an interview for you magazine. That would be great.

As for the Cover Reveal and Blog Tour, there’s a link to the form in the post. This will help me make sure I have all the information. Last time I did this without a form and I spent far too much time organizing the information.

I jsut filled it in! I know how the whole thing is supposed to work, but I really disslike when people want to do something to “pay me back”, so just wanted to mention it is not needed in my case. I am not wanting to reveal your cover so I can get publicity or mention, I jsut wanna help you and spread the word. I dont have much to brag about or too about and I think people are bored already of those posts.
I know how much this means to you, and by allowing me to participate, it is a mention and a thanks more then enough 🙂

I will prepare some interesting interview questions and send them over to you later, so you can see if you like them 🙂

      • You got it. My whole thing is that I want to help others and figure that attention from my debut can be shared. So I won’t force it on anyone. I just realized I’m not sure if you mean a book mention or the thank you post. Still haven’t fully woken up yet.

Not that I dont appriciate it, but this whole thing is about you and your book, not me! The stage is yours, I dont wanna share it, I wanna sit in the audience and cheer 😀

      • All I can think is that I have terrible stage fright. I’m going to go sit in the audience with everyone and put one of those cymbal clanging monkeys on stage. Think anyone will notice? 🙂

      • Quick question just to make sure: you’re just in the Cover Reveal and not the Blog Tour, right? I had a few people sign up for one and mean both, so I want to double check.

Yeah, Cover Reveal. I am not sure if I can dedicate myself fully to the Blog Tour, I never know if something can come up and restrain my time, so would not want to break your schedule.

      • No problem. I’m only doing the first 2 weeks of April now because of low amount of volunteers, so things can get tight easily

Sorry for not sending you the interview yesterday, had an urgent cover design stuff to sort! I will send it today for sure!
Give people some time to apply for your tour and stuff, some people dont read stuff daily as you know, and its even easier to miss when the blogger is a frequent poster.

      • No problem. I got caught up in stuff and wouldn’t have gotten to it until today anyway. I’m probably going to make another pitch tomorrow to see if I can get anyone over the weekend. Hopefully, I get a few more.

      • I’ve noticed that too. A little disturbing at times when you don’t know why a bunch of people vanished. It happened last summer to, so maybe it’s cyclical.

      • I remember reading somewhere that most blogs die off within the first year. Probably because a lot of people go gung-ho at the beginning and then life catches up to them or they run out of things to do.

I’m going to work on the interview this morning. The first question already has me thinking.
