I was thinking of doing some poems about children and the different types you can find at the toddler stage. Then, my son started saying silly things and I opted to make this list of his more amusing quotes:
“I’m soooooo sweet!” (Uttered while hugging a giant plush reindeer.)
“It not crackers and cheese. It cheese and crackers.” (My apologies.)
“Pasta not yummy. Pasta delicious.” (Again, I’m sorry.)
“Yogurt not delicious. Yogurt tasty.” (I’m noticing a theme.)
“Happy birthday to Hanukkah! Happy birthday to Hanukkah!” (His new Hanukkah song invented by him.)
“There’s a baby in the belly.” (Said to his teacher, which caused a confusing phone call because this isn’t the case.)
“I naked!” (Said when fully clothed.)
“Aidan dressed!” (Said when only wearing one sock.)
“Halt, villain!” (Imitated from Ninja Turtles and yelled at anyone who entered the house for a week.)
“I love you, Daddy! Now go away.” (Said from the top of the stairs.)
“Aidan do this . . . Aidan need help.” (At least he attempts self-reliance.)
“Mwahaha!” (Too many incidents involving this one.)
“Daddy hoots and toots like Thomas!” (Farted around the kid. Thankfully, he’s used this on other people too, so I’m not alone.)
My personal favorite: “Aidan wants a cupcake. Aidan deserves a cupcake. Aidan needs cupcake. Daddy! Aidan has earned a cupcake. Please give Aidan cupcake. Aidan deserves a cupcake. Aidan ate chicken nuggets. So Aidan get cupcake. Aidan can’t reach cupcake! Hand Aidan cupcake please. Thank you for the cupcake, Daddy!”
I’m hoping many of these are entertaining and I’m not making a post full of ‘had to be there’ incidents. Still, it was funny thinking about these.

Your personal favorite is definitely my favorite, too. That’s awesome.

It was soon after he started talking in clear sentences too. He just walked up and explained his reasoning for over 5 minutes. He earned two cupcakes there.

I really loved these. The press for cupcake can’t be turned down no matter what. The logic is so clear. I remember some of the things my little ones said. My favorite was “Want to share my cookie?” “Sure, but you don’t have a cookie.” “I know. You get one and we’ll share.”

That’s precious. After I scheduled this post, my son asked for a cupcake. I gave it to him and he walked off. Then he came back and said ‘I want ice cream. Daddy have cupcake’. He fed me the cupcake and then began crying “Daddy ate my cupcake!”. Little imp

I love you daddy…now go away! hahaha! He does, but kids can be painfully honest at times. I love you, but I don’t wish to be bothered.

I tend to walk away and get work done when he does that. He always comes looking for me after a while.

Kids say the most precious things. Usually, far better than we can dream up. (Save this post; you’ll want to re-read it when he gets older.) 🙂

I should. Though that cupcake one is forever etched in my memory because it’s his first long conversation.

Thanks for sharing, Charles. These are hilarious! It’s good to document them, too. You should make it a regular post. So many times my kids have said something and I’ve thought to myself, “That was so funny/adorable/whatever, I’ll never forget that.” A few days later, I can’t recall a single word and I’m kicking myself for not writing it down.

If he does something else that’s easy to explain then I’ll post about it. A lot of his antics are ‘you had to be there’ moments.
