I Don’t Know

You ask me to explain
And I say I don’t know

You ask me what the future holds
And I say I don’t know

You ask me if I’m happy
And I say I don’t know

You ask me what I’m feeling
I simply don’t fucking know

About Charles Yallowitz

Charles E. Yallowitz was born, raised, and educated in New York. Then he spent a few years in Florida, realized his fear of alligators, and moved back to the Empire State. When he isn't working hard on his epic fantasy stories, Charles can be found cooking or going on whatever adventure his son has planned for the day. 'Legends of Windemere' is his first series, but it certainly won't be his last.

You may quietly exit the recesses of my brain now, thank you, having more than adequately described how I am feeling as my current day job comes to an end… I know I and my family will be all right, but there are those moments when “I just don’t know” creeps in.

If you can forgive me for saying this, you do sound like someone who’s been trying too hard to do too much lately (admittedly, I’ve gotten this idea from some of your other posts where you lament falling behind in your schedule). I’m a firm believer in “the harder you try, the harder it gets” when it comes to writing and blogging. As our bodies might let us know when we’re overdoing exercise by evoking pain, our brains might just shut down when it’s tired or feels overwhelmed or is just plain dull. I know mine works that way and all I can do is something different: get away from the computer and read a book, go for a walk, go to a movie, meet up with a friend. Sometimes that break is all you need. I do hope you feel better soon πŸ™‚

I second 1WriteWay – I think time to take a breather… What was it you were going to do with your toddler in times like these?? Lol.
