Sitting at the table
Handing out my wares
And meeting with old friends
The trip is more business
Than pleasure
While I hold a happy smile
Hiding the tinge of melancholy
Remembering grubby fingers
And childish laughter
From the son back home
Hoping he’s too late to care
That mommy and daddy are away
For longer than a day
About Charles Yallowitz
Charles E. Yallowitz was born, raised, and educated in New York. Then he spent a few years in Florida, realized his fear of alligators, and moved back to the Empire State. When he isn't working hard on his epic fantasy stories, Charles can be found cooking or going on whatever adventure his son has planned for the day. 'Legends of Windemere' is his first series, but it certainly won't be his last.
what a sweet, daddy sentiment Charles, took me back to when my daughter was still a little one. i had an office in the back of the house, and all day she would tap…tap…tap on the window panes to get my attention. it’s still one of my fondest memories. thanks for the nostagic daydream and for all the likes on my words lately.
hope the little guy was actually too late to care…..:-)

Thanks. It’s been easier than my wife and I thought. We haven’t been away from our son for an entire weekend since June 2010. Sounds like he took it better than us. Hopefully, he’s happy to see us tomorrow.
