The Sleepy Destroyer

Excitement coursing through my veins
As my fingers strike the buttons
And slam the stick
My enemies fly and fall
Their screams echoing
Through the speakers
Even with my handicap
A body made of pudgy fluff
Threatening to fall asleep
Instead of fight
Yet this creampuff destroys all
From gorillas to bounty hunters
All have been decimated
By Jigglypuff
And the local King of Super Smash

Poetry Prompt #12

Background:  In college, I owned an N64.  My friends and I loved to play Super Smash Bros.  The problem came about that I was destroying people . . . routinely.  First, they banned Link then Samus Aran and it kept going until I was forced to use Jigglypuff.  I still kept winning.

About Charles Yallowitz

Charles E. Yallowitz was born, raised, and educated in New York. Then he spent a few years in Florida, realized his fear of alligators, and moved back to the Empire State. When he isn't working hard on his epic fantasy stories, Charles can be found cooking or going on whatever adventure his son has planned for the day. 'Legends of Windemere' is his first series, but it certainly won't be his last.

That is awesome! That is one game I have not played. It sounds like it was a blast. I had the same issues with the original Nintendo and Tecmo Super Bowl. The rule was I had to play with either the Colts or Patriots, and they still couldn’t beat me. In fact, I just found out that they have TSB tournaments even today. I am so going to check that out. I haven’t played it in 15 or so years, but I am still the King. 🙂

    • I lost my King status when the series hit the Wii. I don’t own one, so I’m not used to the controller. I still managed to win more than I lost, but it was usually by the skin of my teeth. Always with Link too.
