Well, I did finish chapter 5 of Darwin & the Deadland Queen.  I managed to get it done on Sunday, which freed up my week.  Was hoping to start chapter 6, but I couldn’t get the time.  All I managed to do was go over the chapter outline and make the events run smoother.  Got a different opening section and combined the original 1 and 2.  Now things make more sense.

Another big event of the week was college planning, which really drove home the fact that my son is a senior.  I’m not worried though.  He has a plan and put parts of it into action already.  My purpose is to get him signed up for various lists to help him get some scholarships, support his artistic path, and work on financial aide.  There’s other stuff too, but those are outside of the college arena.  I just hope this is easy with minimal or no bumps because everything else is crazy.

Started working on my son’s Halloween costume yesterday.  The goal for this weekend is to do all of the sewing.  If I can accomplish that then the next piece I have to make will be easy to get done at my leisure.  This is why I’m not going to get any writing done this weekend unless I make amazing progress.  Could happen since I already sewed one of the main pieces on and cut out the other four.  Just need to make a fake zig-zag zipper and ‘buttons’.  My exercise bike is out of commission due to this because it’s the only thing I can use to hang the jacket while I work.  The handlebars are the right width that it spread the arms and allows me to sew without risking a bad angle.  Watch me sew the jacket to the bike though.

Yup . . . Work was busy too and . . . I should probably get to the blood part.  Betting many people skimmed looking for it too.

So, my son had all four wisdom teeth taken out yesterday morning.  The surgery went smoothly, but the recovery was dicey.  A lot of bleeding from the mouth, which he had trouble understanding until he wasn’t loopy from the anesthesia anymore.  Some panic from multiple parties.  We had a scare at home too, but I guess bleeding comes and goes for the first 24 hours.  Won’t go into details about it.  All I can say is that I had to make some calls to see if it was as bad as I feared (it wasn’t) and my ex-wife was let into the house to help out.  Won’t go into why that second thing is a sign that stuff kind of went off the rails.  It’s good now.

Due to my son still recovering, I won’t be writing because I need to be able to stop easily and rush over.  Better to do sewing, which I can put down and rush to his room.  I can work on ‘Coven of the Gray’ too if I have the time.  Got a Lego set to finish as well.  My parents are around to watch him when I go out for Pokemon, which is also to invite him to raids.  There’s a raid event today that he won’t be able to go to, so I’m going for him to piggyback off of.  Probably only be out for an hour.  It sounds weird, but he’s upset that he can’t go, so I have to help him do the next best thing.

The plan for this week is to go with the flow and try not to stress too much.  Bunch of stuff at work is going to stress me out.  Court thing will do the same.  Add in a financial aide zoom meeting, constant rain, and I’m sure there’s something else I’m missing.  Next Saturday is a birthday party too, so I won’t get to rest until Sunday.  Maybe I’ll get lucky and be able to write chapter 6 by that point, but it would require I clear the sewing by Sunday evening.  Possible since the storms are supposed to start that day.

So, what are the goals of the week?

1. Take care of recovering son.
2. Work on Halloween costume.
3. Hydrate.
4. Be anchor or whatever for Pokemon to help son.
5. Work on Lego Minas Tirith.
6. Play Super Castlevania on Yom Kippur.  Not fasting this time in case my son needs a ride.
7. Start chapter 6 of Darwin & the Deadland Queen if I can carve out 3 hours.
8. Tinker with ‘Coven of the Gray’.
9. Court.
10. Financial aide meeting.
11. Eat Tums.
