Poetry Day: The Snoozer and The Exhausted

(A poem about two people.  One is always passing out for a nap while the other struggles to sleep.  Why do these types always find each other?)

Crisscrossed pair
Sharing the same bed
One can rarely find relief
Recovering from the day
The other passes out with ease
After napping during day

They barely get along
When the moon is up
The Snoozer takes her time
Flicking lights
And slamming doors
Ignoring the Exhausted’s pleas

Eventually they sleep
The Snoozer out in seconds
As if she has not slept in days
The Exhausted fights too long
Struggling for a blanker mind
While getting nudged away

Every morning
Upon the stroke of six
A battle rages on
Each one wanting to sleep in
Claiming more fatigue
Though the Snoozer has her naps

About Charles Yallowitz

Charles E. Yallowitz was born, raised, and educated in New York. Then he spent a few years in Florida, realized his fear of alligators, and moved back to the Empire State. When he isn't working hard on his epic fantasy stories, Charles can be found cooking or going on whatever adventure his son has planned for the day. 'Legends of Windemere' is his first series, but it certainly won't be his last.

Oh dear! Sounds like people I know. Very difficult in a movie theater when the Snoozer dozes off during the feature.
