Post-Birthday Goal Post

As if my brain needs any other reasons to be confused, I’m doing a goal post on Sunday instead of Saturday.  This is because yesterday was my birthday.  Think it was 42, but I’ve had trouble remembering ever since Covid erased my 40th birthday plans from the face of existence.  Seriously, the elimination of a milestone ‘not dead yet’ day really mucked with my sense of time.  Heck, I actually didn’t realize I was on my birthday last year until the first Facebook message.  Probably should worry more about this mental decline than I really am.

Nah, I’m still recovering from going out last night.  It wasn’t drinking that got me since I only had 2 Hennessy-based cocktails over the course of the night.  It was the hot wings that may have gotten to me and caused some really bizarre dreams.  Also a state of being pseudo-awake or pseudo-asleep.  Thankfully, I have no plans today other than this post, hydrating, maybe biking, and starting a new anime once I watch the last episode of this other one that I’m not that into.  Having a low key day is just what I needed after the previous week.

Last week was . . . I really think I’m going to be dragging myself into the summer at this point.  Work was fine if not a little busy at first, but that’s par for the course.  The mayhem came from the home stuff.  It was the last week of a tumultuous third quarter for my son, so we had tests and projects all over the place.  On top of this, he surprised me with a change in the days and time of a club he’s in.  So, the schedule is off and will remain so until the end of May.  Means a lot of juggling and working hard at night.  Even my birthday required some homework time after we saw ‘Sonic the Hedgehog 2’.  I’m just really hoping we can pull this whole thing off and go right into enjoying our Spring Break.

On the plus side, I finished the posts for July.  I’m going to start in on August this week on my continued quest to prep my blog in a way that I only have to worry about the weekends and can focus on writing during the summer.  Given everything that’s going on, I probably won’t be able to return to Darwin’s adventure until Memorial Day Weekend.  Most of the big events should be done by then.  So, I might prepare September too since writing time might not be a thing once the next school year starts.  It might seem silly to people for me to do this, but it puts my mind at ease.

Spring Break is going to be busier than expected.  It starts with Passover, which means cleaning and family.  Later on, my son and I are going on a trip.  I’ll talk about it once we get back, but it means I won’t be responding to blog comments that quickly.  Might have to put a place holder for that week’s goal post too.  Might just be a list of what I plan to do once I get back, which won’t be that interesting.  We’ll see what happens.  Should probably do an Easter post for next Sunday too.  I keep forgetting about that since I’m Jewish.  Still unsure what egg-laying rabbits who went to college for art degrees have to do with Jesus Christ.  Eh, I’ve heard of weirder beliefs.

Dang.  I wanted to use a new song I heard at the top, but the radio played ‘Insane in the Brain’ by Cypress Hill.  Can’t let that one go for the post.

With there only being 3 days of work/school, I don’t have much in the way of plans.  I’m going to be busy anyway.  Thursday is going to be about cleaning and spending time with my son in preparation of guests.  So, it won’t be that exciting.  Might get some biking in at some point.  Should probably do that today once I finish this post.  Could give me some thoughts on more post topics.

My mind is just wandering now.  Got a bad feeling this day is going to go to waste if I drop my guard.  Good thing I didn’t plan on tackling the next Darwin outline.  Saving that for Spring Break.  Well, I’m off to actually get my butt in gear.  Definitely feeling older since I’m moving so slow.  Though, it’s more a mental sluggishness.  Fun!

Goals of the week:

  1. Work with son on projects and studying.
  2. Work hard at work.
  3. Finish the ‘Witcher’ puzzle I’ve been struggling with for months.
  4. Start the Batman Lego set my friend got me for my birthday.
  5. Use my B&N birthday coupon
  6. August posts
  7. Make list of things we need for the trip

Oh yeah!  My son picked his Halloween costume for this year.  It may be early, but I’m thankful for it.  This is my year for buying or making him a costume.  He picked out a doozy for me:

Soul King Brook from One Piece

Yup.  This one is going to take some work.  Thankfully, he’s okay with having the character’s purple cane instead of the shark guitar.  Funniest part is that the sunglasses are going to be the hardest . . . Wait . . . That should work.

GOAL #8- Make list of things needed for this costume and plans for modifications.

Charles E. Yallowitz was born, raised, and educated in New York. Then he spent a few years in Florida, realized his fear of alligators, and moved back to the Empire State. When he isn't working hard on his epic fantasy stories, Charles can be found cooking or going on whatever adventure his son has planned for the day. 'Legends of Windemere' is his first series, but it certainly won't be his last.

Charles, you are amazingly busy. Always like to read about your activities, school, writing, and now costume design? That’s quite a feat. I’ll watch for progress. It’s a pretty awesome Halloween costume. Have a good week. 📚🎶 Christine
