This is going up late because I won’t be around tomorrow until the night and I might have a special post in the morning. Not that I have much to say. People saw the ‘I got nothing’ post . . . though I might now have something. You know, I really hate roller coasters in real life because I get motion sickness easily. They aren’t much better in other arenas of life. Wears on the nerves and I still can’t shake this fatigue. It’s like I only have an hour of energy per day.
That isn’t to say I haven’t been idle this week. Progress was made in terms of stuff. Mostly I finished the outline, supporting characters, monsters, and a few pieces for one of my later books. This is a big step because this is the series with every book having 4 acts that spread across multiple locations and involve a swashbuckling adventure similar to games like Final Fantasy and Illusion of Gaia. Finishing this first book helps me get a feel for the tempo and refine what I was originally planning. I’m becoming more compact in my writing as I progress through Legends of Windemere. That will help when I come to this series, which won’t be for a while. I still have Night War, Darwin, and a few others to do before then. Always hard to balance Windemere since everything is connected and one series might hold a spoiler for another. I’m hoping to dive into the second one with heroes and villains this week. It appears that I can finish an ‘Act’ with supporting characters and monsters in a day. So I might finish this before the kid starts his winter break.
One thing I’m trying to figure out is book hyping. I realize that I should start on that for The Mercenary Prince, but December has been scheduled. Not to mention I’m still not sure when the book will be out. This also throws January into a small issue and writing posts on the day might not happen. Mostly because there’s so much going on around here. So I’m thinking of pausing Teaser Tuesday and Questions 3 for a bit in order to do posts about the books. At least for this month and a bit of January. I might keep Questions 3 and connect it to the books. Not sure if it’s really possible to hype a book without a release date though. Maybe it would be smarter to simply hold the course and just schedule a ton of stuff for January. The post tomorrow may shed more light on why this issue is happening.
So, what is the plan for the week?
- Start making characters for Sin’s second book.
- Begin scheduling posts for January.
- That’s about it.

I’ll try to check back tomorrow for the special post and to read another installment of Raven Hold.

Took me a second to realize what you were talking about. 🙂

I pretty much write mine right before I post them. I can schedule guest posts ahead of time though. Writing an act per day is pretty productive.

Thanks. Though it’s just the outline for this. Betting the real acts will take longer. 😀 I used to write the posts on the day, but that seems to erase my mornings these days.

I’ve always felt you kept up a winning horse’s race. I’ve lagged for nearly half a year. Hard to get back in the saddle. Good luck on finding a tree. I haven’t pulled mine out of the box yet.

Had to order the tree. It isn’t a real tree, but a replica of the Charlie Brown Christmas Tree. Drooping, one ornament, and wrapped with Linus’s blanket. I remember having to get back into things after years of only outlining. It’s not too hard if you let yourself go. Old habits tend to creep up as the rust falls away. Hope you get back to riding soon.

I’ve always experienced the phrase ‘Christmas is coming’ more as a threat than a promise.

It does seem to feel that way at times.
