Questions, Questions, So Few Questions

The Riddler

The Riddler

First off, this is going to be Sticky Posted for a few days or the whole week.  All new posts will appear below it.  So I’m still active, but this is going to help me keep blogging in August.

I came up with the idea to interview characters from my books throughout the month of August.  Every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday will have one of these.  Tuesday will still have the teaser pieces and Thursday might see tests of the Questions 3.  Keep in mind that I’ll be spending most of August in full-time father mode and HOPEFULLY promoting The Merchant of Nevra Coil.  That’s why I want to do something simple, fun, and connected to my writing.

I’ve tried to do interviews in the past where I put a character in the hot seat and let people ask questions in the comments.  Many times this fumbles because spoilers are an issue and some characters simply don’t have the interest of people.  Even if they happened to rank in the Top 5 of a character poll.  So I’m going to change it up and ask people to put questions in the comments here.  Each character will get a post answering the questions, so I suggest not making them character specific.  You can still do it, but that is unfair to others on the list.  This gives people time to think of a question and you get to see the varied mentalities that are in Windemere.

So here are the 13 lucky characters:

  1. Luke Callindor
  2. Nyx
  3. Fizzle
  4. Sari
  5. Delvin Cunningham
  6. Timoran Wrath
  7. Dariana
  8. Trinity
  9. Ichabod Brooks
  10. Kira Grasdon
  11. Yola Biggs
  12. The Lich
  13. Aedyn Karwyn

I wanted to add Stephen and the Baron, but those two have always had bad outings on the blog.  Especially the Baron since he never gets asked anything.  The reason Aedyn is here is because I haven’t done much with him in a while.  I think he’s due for some attention.

So ask questions and I’ll get everyone’s opinion on it.  The order of characters will be a random drawing too.  So there’s not telling when a character will appear.  One final thing:

PLEASE AVOID SPOILERS!

About Charles Yallowitz

Charles E. Yallowitz was born, raised, and educated in New York. Then he spent a few years in Florida, realized his fear of alligators, and moved back to the Empire State. When he isn't working hard on his epic fantasy stories, Charles can be found cooking or going on whatever adventure his son has planned for the day. 'Legends of Windemere' is his first series, but it certainly won't be his last.

  1. Characters, what’s it like working for Charles? He appears to be a pretty demanding taskmaster but I would like to get your view.

If the characters had the choice of any occupation, what would they actually like to be?

What was your favorite holiday as a child? Do you have any hobbies that you would like to be able to spend more time on? What figure from history would you most like to meet? What’s your favorite meal? Do you play any musical instruments–if so, what? If you don’t, what would you like to play? Describe your dream home.

Of all the other characters you are expected to interact with, is there any one in particular that you wish you didn’t have to be around?

Okay characters, have any of you been strongly attracted to another character in a story and it never developed. Charles ignored the clues…stolen glances, racing heart! You probably thought a missed match in Windermere land! Maybe Charles thought a mismatch! Christine

Good luck, Charles. This sounds like a great way to introduce your characters with your audience. This is a smart move worthy of emulation. You’re going to have your hands full, for sure. Enjoy!

  7. Thirteen is such a great number! I’ll resist asking thirteen questions though and settle for three 😉 1. What is your biggest fear? 2. If you could change places with another person in Windemere, who would it be and why? 3. What makes you happy?

Characters (anyone can answer), what does teamwork mean to you? How would you define honor? What’s the best way to hunt monsters? What’s your first response when someone makes you really, really mad?
