- Timoran Wrath By Kayla Matt
- By Kayla Matt
One is a wise and powerful barbarian that has a moderate fear of magic. The other is a purple-scaled, dragonfly-winged dragon with enough magic to punch a hole through a mountain. Timoran Wrath and Fizzle make for an interesting pairing, but it’s one that appears quite often. Mostly I think it’s because Fizzle likes perching on the big man’s shoulder and head. From the author perspective, they make an incredible combination of magic, physical strength, speed, and wisdom. As seen in Curse of the Dark Wind, they do make an impressive team.
These two characters also have a habit of being mistaken for their outward appearance. Sari gets this too, but she does it on purpose. Timoran is big, muscular, scarred and a barbarian. So readers and other characters assume he’s stupid, which is pretty far from the truth. Fizzle is small, cute, and has a child-like speech pattern. So readers and other characters think he’s immature and foolish, which isn’t true. Neither character does this on purpose or openly fights against the ideas unless they’re prodded. Guess it’s a good thing Timoran and Fizzle are mildly tempered.
Really nothing left to say here. Ask away and see what they say.

I’m not quite sure how to put this without sounding offensive, but I do have a question for Fizzle: when he speaks in his original language, it becomes clear just how old and sophisticated he really is. So, my question is (ahem), just how old is he?

Fizzle- Not off . . . offen . . . Not mean question. Fizzle over two hundred years old. Dragons live long, but sleep long too. Oldest drite make one thousand and fifty years. Then got bored and do last sleep.

Huh. He’s pretty young then. He’s wiser than his young age would suggest 🙂

Fizzle- Fizzle not understand. Older than humans. Your kind get wisdom quickly. Why not dragons? Fizzle only have more time to more.

That’s a good question, actually. Does a species that lives so much longer than us perceive time in the same way? Or does it seem to crawl by?
I wonder how one can tell, of course…

Interesting. Are more scared of dying, having a long life ahead of you?

Fizzle- Not really think about it. Fizzle not want to die, but know that it part of life. Less concerned than friends. Fizzle think it individual’s choice. Some fear death. Some live and accept time when it comes.

Timoran, how do you react when someone only seems to view you one way? For example, you’re a strong guy. Do you get challenged to fights a lot because of how you look? How do you show people that there’s more to you than they might immediately perceive?

Timoran- Many people jump to conclusions due to my appearance and reputation. My size dissuades some from challenging me, but it still happens. I try my best to prevent such incidents from continuing. I am not always successful, especially if alcohol is involved. As for your final question, I am simply myself. If a person is willing to talk with me then they will see that I am not a battle-hungry savage. Life is too short to waste so much on proving myself to others. It is smarter to let them clear their own minds.
