Character Hot Seat: Timoran Wrath & Fizzle

One is a wise and powerful barbarian that has a moderate fear of magic.  The other is a purple-scaled, dragonfly-winged dragon with enough magic to punch a hole through a mountain.  Timoran Wrath and Fizzle make for an interesting pairing, but it’s one that appears quite often.  Mostly I think it’s because Fizzle likes perching on the big man’s shoulder and head.  From the author perspective, they make an incredible combination of magic, physical strength, speed, and wisdom.  As seen in Curse of the Dark Wind, they do make an impressive team.

These two characters also have a habit of being mistaken for their outward appearance.  Sari gets this too, but she does it on purpose.  Timoran is big, muscular, scarred and a barbarian.  So readers and other characters assume he’s stupid, which is pretty far from the truth.  Fizzle is small, cute, and has a child-like speech pattern. So readers and other characters think he’s immature and foolish, which isn’t true.  Neither character does this on purpose or openly fights against the ideas unless they’re prodded.  Guess it’s a good thing Timoran and Fizzle are mildly tempered.

Really nothing left to say here.  Ask away and see what they say.

About Charles Yallowitz

Charles E. Yallowitz was born, raised, and educated in New York. Then he spent a few years in Florida, realized his fear of alligators, and moved back to the Empire State. When he isn't working hard on his epic fantasy stories, Charles can be found cooking or going on whatever adventure his son has planned for the day. 'Legends of Windemere' is his first series, but it certainly won't be his last.

  1. I’m not quite sure how to put this without sounding offensive, but I do have a question for Fizzle: when he speaks in his original language, it becomes clear just how old and sophisticated he really is. So, my question is (ahem), just how old is he?

Timoran, how do you react when someone only seems to view you one way? For example, you’re a strong guy. Do you get challenged to fights a lot because of how you look? How do you show people that there’s more to you than they might immediately perceive?

    • Timoran- Many people jump to conclusions due to my appearance and reputation. My size dissuades some from challenging me, but it still happens. I try my best to prevent such incidents from continuing. I am not always successful, especially if alcohol is involved. As for your final question, I am simply myself. If a person is willing to talk with me then they will see that I am not a battle-hungry savage. Life is too short to waste so much on proving myself to others. It is smarter to let them clear their own minds.

  3. Sorry, I’m late. I would like to ask Fizzle where he got his liking for apples
