For those that might have missed the Friday fun:
LEGENDS OF WINDEMERE: CURSE OF THE DARK WIND IS LIVE ON AMAZON KINDLE!
Also on Goodreads.
The blog blast was a success and the sales at the time of writing this post are what they normally are. Slow start since it’s part of a series and several marketing pieces haven’t gone live yet, but it made it into the 18,000 rankings. If Compass Key taught me anything, it’s that it gets harder and harder to rocket out of the gate as you progress through a series. At least for an indie author that doesn’t have hundreds of thousands of fans. Contrary to popular belief, I’m not one of those people. Anyway, this week will see the Twitter and FB pushing and any ranking announcements. If I find any guest blog or interview sites then I’ll jump at those.
This is also the week before my son gets two weeks off from school, which will be a forced break. I won’t be able to respond, retweet, reblog, etc. very quickly and I’m not even sure what I have scheduled. All I know is that I have a lot to do and praying for an invigorating coma never works. The best I’ve gotten is a lengthy yawn. Anyway, my hope is to start writing Book 9 of Legends of Windemere this week. Even if I get through the first 3 chapters, which is doable. Then I’ll do a bit here and there until the kid goes back to school. Book 9 is rather heavy and lengthy because it covers a lot of development, a new area to explore, and a subtle introduction to something that plays into another series. I’d put this on par with Allure of the Gypsies.
The only other thing that happened this week is that I got a lot of work done on a future 2-book set idea. It was going to be a simple adventure, but I found a few world-shaking events that I could fit into it. Nothing too over the top, but gives the story more weight in terms of scope and impact.
So, what are are the goals for the week?
- Promote Curse of the Dark Wind.
- Begin writing Book 9.
- Keep reading Emperor of Nihon-Ja.
- Some notebook work.
- Cook dinners.
- Entertain the son and think up excursions for the break.

Congrats on the success of the Curse of the Dark Wind, Charles! Enjoy your vacation time with your son. Taking a break is a good thing. Book 9? How cool! I, myself, am taking a much needed Christmas break starting on Thursday. 🙂

Thanks. Still hoping to hit a Top 100 list at some point. The break won’t start until a week from this Monday and I’m not sure how restful it will be. I plan on waking up the usual time to get all my morning stuff done before the child awakens. I’m just hoping to keep things running while he’s home. With the book in its first month, I can’t really disappear. This is a rough balancing act.

Forgot to mention I tried the Betty Crocker Chicken Marsala last Sunday and it was great. I served with mashed potatoes and green beans.

Excellent. It was a success here too. Don’t remember the side dish I used, but the mashed potatoes and green beans sounds like a winner.

Reblogged this on Leona's Blog of Shadows and commented:
Congrats to Charles Yallowitz for releasing book 6 of The Legends of Windemere series. It’s now live on Amazon, I have purchased the entire series and will write review posts on them sometime in the near future (my TBR stack is rather enormous and I have a lot to read and review, but I will review at least the first book of the series hopefully before February)

I spread the word on my own blog, Twitter and Google+
Congrats, Charles! Well done. I am planning to review at least book #1 of the series before February. It’s high in my TBR list. I am in the middle of some big shot series and have ARC’s piled up but I gave this the highest priority slot available. Really excited to read this series. I hope it makes it to the Amazon best seller lists!

Congrats!
An invigorating coma sounds like just the thing. If you ever pull it off, let me know how you did it. Forget books, you can get rich marketing *that*! 😀

The trick would be waking up to share the secret. I feel like I could sleep for years. Then again, I always feel that way on a Thursday.

Friday comes with a second wind. Just making it to that precious weekend. Though I work from home, so it doesn’t make a difference to me.
