No school for weeks
While mommy is away
No more time for Frozen
Only time to play
Trains going down the hallway
Books scattered on the rugs
Legos oddly clean
One nightmare’s all it takes
Because mommy can’t stay up
Leaving daddy to try his best
A bath at 2 AM?
Then chatting for an hour
Daddy not look good today
Perfect time to play
Really hope this day runs smoother than the night. No idea what to do with him, but I don’t have it in me to go very far from the house. Maybe make it a backyard day and possibly head out somewhere for lunch. Need to fix his library card too since people never seem to spell his name right. Even if it’s in front of them, they still put an ‘e’ instead of an ‘a’.

Hang in there Charles. I’ll be thinking of you as I struggle through mine.

Thanks. Little guy is still asleep too, so I don’t think tonight is going to be much easier.

You should probably wake him up… Tough, I know.

He’s up and running. Hopefully he wears out by bath time.

Ha ha that really made chuckle!! Sorry about that – couldn’t help it! Hope you can get through these next few weeks with your sanity intact! BTW you’ve put ‘spell his name write’ – deliberate mistake?? 🙂

Typo due to exhaustion. I should go fix that. You can see that I might not make it to September.

I can definitely see that. And from the photo it looks as though The Toddler is a bit bigger than a toddler now!!

Yeah. Though calling him the Kid doesn’t feel right yet. Maybe when he’s 6 or can cook for himself.

Oh my!! How sad about that nightmare. And I also wonder about those “oddly clean” Legos.

It’s a set and he put it together. So now it stays in one piece. Most kids would tear it apart again.

I don’t envy you at all, this sounds like a nightmare that only some sleep can fix. Hang in there my friend, maybe today will be better than you think.

Sleep would be soooo nice. At least he’s watching ‘Frozen’ now and I got the big editing project done. Now it’s just getting the September posts ready.

What a cutie! Sorry you both had a rough night :-(. I feel your pain; my littlest guy struggles to sleep through the night often. Hope tonight goes more smoothly for both of you!

This doesn’t happen often. Though it’s a real pain when it does. He goes into a panic really fast.

Glad to hear it doesn’t happen often. I know how hard it can be to calm them down. Here’s to hoping for a GOOD night tonight!

Thanks. I’m hoping it’s a good night of sleep too. Can’t take too many rough ones. 🙂

I used to play golf with a friend whose last name was Dane. Should be pretty simple. We’d put his name on the waiting list and they’d call our group over the loudspeaker. Never got it right. It’s amazing some of the names they tried (even when we went there enough that they should easily have known us). One day, they asked what his name was and he replied, “Smith.” They got that one right. 🙂
I like how the rhythm changes to match what transpires in your poem.

Dane? I sometimes wonder if people purposely screw with some names. I’m going to guess they said Dave or Dean.
I think the changing rhythm was entirely by accident. I’ve become oddly rusty with my poetry, so it’s rather sloppy. I’m writing up a week of poetry for September and they’re iffy. For some reason they’re all on Superman and some of his transformations.

Dave or Dean would have been improvements. They would repeat something insane, like Jones, and we’d finally go in ask if they meant us. Happened at other courses, too, so a ton of different people were doing it. Always enjoy your poetry. 🙂

Thanks. The last one in the set is a little strained for some reason, but I’ll see what happens. It’s on Supergirl, which I’ve noticed brings in fights about comic book heroines always wearing skimpy outfits.
Jones? They had to have been messing with you guys. There can’t be that many stupid people out there working golf courses.
