And So Begins Weeks of Mild Activity

(I’m having trouble with my blog.  The menu bar at the top doesn’t show up, so I won’t always know when notifications appear.  Looks like technical difficulties for today.)

So this week is where everything changes and I’ll be less active for a few weeks.  I’ll be doing promo work and all of the posts are scheduled.  Looks like morning, evening, and however long ‘Frozen’ is will be my computer time.  This is because my wife starts the new job tomorrow, which means I’m solo with the toddler.  I might be waking up before he does in order to get the morning stuff done.  No idea how to get the biking done though because the few times I’ve tried to bike while the toddler was around ended quickly.

I managed to finish the editing of Book 6 with many distractions appearing, so I didn’t get much else done.  The Compass Key is on a few Top 100 lists, which is great.  I’m hoping my inability to do much in the way of marketing doesn’t hurt it too much.  Things may return to normal in September.  I still have 5 books to edit before I step into the next volume of ‘Legends of Windemere’.  3 of those should be rather simple while the other 2 are more intensive.

Not much else to talk about here since I’m gearing up for more toddler time than anything else.  That tends to be library, playgrounds, Frozen, and unpredictability.  I’m now in charge of his breakfast, lunch, dinner, bath, and everything in between.  We have to buy some school supplies too, which might be our adventure on Monday.  With all of his toys, I don’t see why he can’t play in the backyard all day.  He has a swing set, two slides, a trampoline, bubbles, bowling set, and so many things that can entertain him.  Anyway, that’s my focus for now.  I’ll be as social as I can while keeping some work progress going.  I think the rest of this month are Windemere posts taken from questions asked by various readers.

Two more spots for The Compass Key Blog Tour!  August 30th and 31st!

Goals for the week:

  1. Entertain and feed toddler.
  2. Prepare posts for September when time permits.
  3. Edit novels when time permits.
  4. Market books.  Might have to prep Tweets the night before.

So I hope everyone has a fun August.

About Charles Yallowitz

Charles E. Yallowitz was born, raised, and educated in New York. Then he spent a few years in Florida, realized his fear of alligators, and moved back to the Empire State. When he isn't working hard on his epic fantasy stories, Charles can be found cooking or going on whatever adventure his son has planned for the day. 'Legends of Windemere' is his first series, but it certainly won't be his last.

  2. Good luck with all that! Wow – you really must burn the midnight oil to get some work done. You totally have a great foundation in place though, so your fans will stay. 🙂

All the best to you, Charles! I know what it’s like to need all your energy for a toddler. Hats off for getting as much done as you do, I think I would have collapsed into a spaghetti-like mess. Plus my writing probably would have consisted entirely of misspelled one-syllable words. 😉
