Stepping off the amber path
That led me through the darkest souls
I have come to where it rests
The land of Kalavahm
Country bathed in emerald clouds
Where all lost pieces land
Setting off on a well worn path
Traveling the mountain high
Cliffs cloaked in flowers
Of purest bubbles and lace
I crest this place of solitude
While feeling eyes upon my form
Passing temples of mottled stone
That run along the valley
Ghostly forms dance within their halls
More pieces lost by others
Having drifted off to Kalavahm
Not knowing they are missed
I reach the sunlight forest
Where trees are beams of bright
Beautiful and soft
Enveloping the path I walk
Yet I still know the way
Sensing my journey is near its end
At the edge of Kalavahm
I find the other piece I lost
Unaware it has been found
Not remembering it was gone
All we know is we are one again
Until Kalavahm is no more

That’s beautiful. It reminds me of dreams and imagination. It also reminds me of childhood and how we need to keep the wonder of childhood within us, even as we get older.

Very well said. It seems like it gets harder and harder every year to retain the imagination spark.

I liked it. Brought to light the promise of joining what has been lost. Couldn’t help remembering those I miss.

Thanks. Good interpretation. I was just writing as the music played so I’m interested to see what people say.

I love “not remembering it was gone.” It makes me think about how people can be lost in their lives and not even realize it until they are confronted with it. Very nicely done!

Thanks. Every time I read this poem, I seem to have a different idea of what I was dreaming up. That line is certainly a big one.

Wow, what a great song! I’ve never heard it before, but now it’s in my brain and I can’t get rid of it. Also, I love this line “Cliffs cloaked in flowers.” I think that’s a beautiful image. Thanks for the uplifting message, much appreciated!

You’re welcome. The song has been one of my favorites since I heard it in high school. The imagery it creates has always been helpful with my fantasy world.
