To Write in Different Words

Waldorf and Statler from Muppets

I wish to make a language
That gets carried down the lines
Fondly remembered
And uttered beyond the pages
Complicated and clean
With fans becoming fluent
Drawing my world
Into the realm of reality

Take the ‘G’ and make it ‘L’
Add thirty types of ‘P’
Commas mean repeating words
While periods denote a roar
I think I have the letters down
Though the only vowel is ‘M’
Maybe this was a bad idea
I should stop before I hurt myself

About Charles Yallowitz

Charles E. Yallowitz was born, raised, and educated in New York. Then he spent a few years in Florida, realized his fear of alligators, and moved back to the Empire State. When he isn't working hard on his epic fantasy stories, Charles can be found cooking or going on whatever adventure his son has planned for the day. 'Legends of Windemere' is his first series, but it certainly won't be his last.

Ha! So clever and true! I’ve been watching the behind the scenes documentaries of both Hobbit movies. The actors struggle with the languages.

Cute poem. You made me smile. I needed that. Just please don’t string too many consonants together without a vowel break. That kills me in some of the sci-fi and fantasy I have read (tried to read).
