Love of the Word
You grew up with books
Reveling in their worlds
Both of Earth and beyond
Nurtured by their ink
Until adulthood
Where you wish to share your joy
And carry others beyond the page
Follow in Footsteps
Studying a master
Who stirs your mind and heart
Perhaps a child of Poe or Paine
To honor the great works
Through imitation
Sincerest form of flattery
Drawn into the World
Always telling stories
Either through voice or hands
As natural as breathing
You know no other way
To touch happiness
Or feel like you’re alive
Storyteller to the bone and blood
That is what you are

Charles, these are great!
The first I identify with then and now. Love the Nurtured by their ink.
The second: Yes!
The third: Sounds like you…I love it!

I like the last section, Charles. About always being a storyteller 🙂 I know two great storytellers – stories at the supper table sorts of stories. They’re so great…and that is what it takes to be an interesting writer, too – keeping the attention.
Hope all is well. I’ll be behind in my blogging for a few days…company.

I’ve always been curious about the suppertime storytellers. I know a few of those and their food always goes cold. How do they not starve?
