Goals on an Empty Stomach

Sidekick the Morning

Writing this with the toddler sticking his head in front of the laptop.  We’ll see how this goes.

Well, it’s been a busy week with whacky weather and the toddler returning to school.  A few delays tripped me up, but some of them were productive delays.  I should be getting my missed goals done this week.  This is good because I might be away away later this week into next week.  What is away away?  Here:

Away = Being out while still being able to interact here and do promo work.

Away Away = Being out and not having access to wifi, which means I will be a rarity here with little to no promo work.  This one means what little wifi openings I get will be spent cleaning out email and handling my blog comments.  If I can slip in a few blog reads then I will, but mostly I’ll become a ‘liker’.  I’m more concerned with no promo work because Hootsuite isn’t getting along with me right now.  No Tweets, No FB posts . . . I’m not sure I’ll survive.

Here are the goals:

  1. Finish writing Curse of the Dark Wind.  2 chapter sections to go as of this post.
  2. Get that haircut since storm and cold stopped me this week.  Seriously, this is getting ridiculous.
  3. Toddler Goal: Let little boy have the big Henry.  This stems from him getting in trouble for not sharing toys at the library.
  4. Plan for possible trip.
  5. Schedule posts for time away and beyond.  Maybe cover January.
  6. Toddler Goal: Go to bed . . . with head on daddy’s hands.  *Delay in typing*
  7. Design characters and main events for War of the Tainted.  This is my between book project.
  8. Make Penne with Homemade Vodka Sauce for dinner tonight.
  9. Read a book, but not sure which.  I have Halt’s Peril and a long list of eBooks.  Not sure where to even start.  Maybe clear out some of the short ones.  I let this thing get far too long.

That’s the plan, so we’ll see what happens.

About Charles Yallowitz

Charles E. Yallowitz was born, raised, and educated in New York. Then he spent a few years in Florida, realized his fear of alligators, and moved back to the Empire State. When he isn't working hard on his epic fantasy stories, Charles can be found cooking or going on whatever adventure his son has planned for the day. 'Legends of Windemere' is his first series, but it certainly won't be his last.

  1. That hair is out of control at this point. You’ll have to grow it out like the Beiber. I mean you’re probably half way there by now. 😉

  2. I feel #9. I have a stash on my Fire. I’m sort of bouncing back and forth between a few of them…

Up, up, and away away. 🙂

    • I’m thinking of finding one of the big ones on there and work on getting that one taken care of. I feel so bad that I haven’t been reading these.

      • I feel bad about some books I’ve read, intend to review, but still haven’t gotten around to it. I’ve got this project I’m working on, where for the past few weeks I foolishly believed I was almost done… If I can just get to the end of this tunnel…

      • I feel like that. I was trying to read a book between writing projects, but some of the ones I grabbed were bigger than I expected. I’ve narrowed it down to two for this time.

Read a book to the toddler and kill two birds with one stone 🙂

    • I don’t have any toddler stories on my Kindle. That and he’s in the ‘I can read it myself’ stage.

    • By the way, an adorable stage, but it always results in stories never making it past the first few pages.

My three almost four yo granddaughter is the same way…their attention spans seem much shorter than ours were. She will sit through talking kindle books and videos but to actually read her a story book, forget it.

      • I’ve noticed that. Using voices and having my son turn the pages was what got him through a book, so it might be the level that the mediums touch the senses. Not sure about his attention span compared to mine. I have an odd feeling that I was similar, but I’m too old and crotchety to remember. Now back to yelling at kids to get off the lawn. 🙂

  8. hope it worked out, Charles. I am a great believer in lists (and very hard onmyself if i do not achieve everything i set myself to do). your little one looks cute, i relate to your situation, my baby is trying to press keys as i type (try to type one handed, that is, stopping after every other word to readjust the little one etc). annoying but adoreable. be well, sir

    • Thanks. So far it’s been a lazy day without any real goals. Oddest thing is that I woke up more exhausted than I normally would. Hoping this isn’t something that keeps going on for my ‘vacation’. Need to get a few things done before February.
