The review is scared
Honesty is a must
No book is truly horrid
Or perfect in every way
The stars are secondary
To this critic’s words

A positive is shown
Along with what needs work
Favorite characters
And weak subplots
Lengthy thoughts and ponderings
Showing a depth of view

These reviews hold meat
To feed an author’s growth
No stroking of ego
Or destruction of heart
Simple truth of word
Overshadowing the rating

This is part of a set going up today about the different review types I’ve seen.  This isn’t saying any are good or bad, but there are interesting perspectives on some of these review types.

About Charles Yallowitz

Charles E. Yallowitz was born, raised, and educated in New York. Then he spent a few years in Florida, realized his fear of alligators, and moved back to the Empire State. When he isn't working hard on his epic fantasy stories, Charles can be found cooking or going on whatever adventure his son has planned for the day. 'Legends of Windemere' is his first series, but it certainly won't be his last.

  3. Being able to learn from a review is the best. I always love it when a customer comes back to us, not ranting or raving, but offering up some sort of helpful tip – it seems to mean more to the overall interaction.
