The review is scared
Honesty is a must
No book is truly horrid
Or perfect in every way
The stars are secondary
To this critic’s words
A positive is shown
Along with what needs work
Favorite characters
And weak subplots
Lengthy thoughts and ponderings
Showing a depth of view
These reviews hold meat
To feed an author’s growth
No stroking of ego
Or destruction of heart
Simple truth of word
Overshadowing the rating
This is part of a set going up today about the different review types I’ve seen. This isn’t saying any are good or bad, but there are interesting perspectives on some of these review types.

I liked this…nice, poetic, focused on the positives.

I think these are the best reviews. One can grow from these.

I do enjoy these. Few and far between, but I think that makes them sweeter.

I don’t know how you do daily. I generally do three times a week plus a CSB and I have my hands full.

Lately, I’ve been scheduling my posts by taking an afternoon to write them. Though, I’m not sure what to do for Thursday and Friday.

Being able to learn from a review is the best. I always love it when a customer comes back to us, not ranting or raving, but offering up some sort of helpful tip – it seems to mean more to the overall interaction.

I agree. Helps growth too.

Love this one too – like I said in the others. Genius! My favourite is the praiser. I reckon you are really onto something here. 🙂

Thanks. I prefer the Thinker, but the Praiser helps when I’m down. It’s a rather general overview of reviewers here, so there’s always those in the gray zones.
