The book is closed
Yet their mind remains
Trapped within the world
Adventuring with characters
Who have become close friends
They must be shared
A review is born
Five stars are shined
Yet something’s a little off
No details given
Only blind praise
This book has no flaws
A joyous event
That makes the author smile
Though others frown
Claiming this praise false
Made by friend or kin
With no proof to back them up
Still the review has merit
A fan is always welcome
Telltale sign your path is true
And your words can touch a heart
These are for the author
To give them strength against the storm
This is part of a set going up today about the different review types I’ve seen. This isn’t saying any are good or bad, but there are interesting perspectives on some of these review types.

Well…nice to get…gives you a bit of shelter from the despiser…funny how a despiser is not dismissed as maybe your ex or a rancorous co-worker…not much good to help you know if that’s the book you’d like to try out though.

It’s definitely an interesting world of reviewing. I really think the three poems I have going up today covers most, if not all, of the reviewer rainbow. It is nice to get a reprieve from the haters though.

Oh I should think so. Wonder why people feel such a need to hurt…

Sense of power maybe. The review can get attention and turn people away from the book. So others agreeing justifies a person’s opinion.

a form of cyberbullying…or just being a bully type…and people agreeing gives them a sense of existing.

In a way. I think it’s an odd area because one can give negative reviews while staying on the subject on the book. Sadly, some people write them in the heat of the moment and go for personal attacks.

Yea, know what you mean…it probably really has nothing at all to do with what’s been written by the author or the author, but the person who’s reviewing “relieving” him/herself letting off steam in an “safe” environment.

They don’t see how it can cause harm to the author too. Though many do. There’s a trend on Amazon where people give negative reviews on a product due to bad delivery experience, which isn’t the product’s fault. So it seems people see the review area as an internet forum.

Crazy way of thinking, but what can one do? Like going to the supermarket and then complaining that the cookies aren’t good because you have to stand in line for two hours…doesn’t make sense.

People are impatient, so that’s always a downside. I ordered something for a friend once and it took nearly a month to get delivered to them. Ridiculous, but I knew it wasn’t the product’s fault. Some people just flip out.

Yea…happens here too, but the Italians are used to inefficiency and so they blame the government, we consider people victims of the system. 😉

Pretty much describes my review of your first book. Your characters still have me visiting Windemere, lol.

I’d offer a review of these review poems, but on second thought… 🙂

I agree with Melissa, it sounds like my reviews of your books Charles. *gasps in horror* I’m a Yallowitz fanboy! O-M-G! Hide the bronies! 😀 I suppose there are worse things to be… he he he Another excellent poem Charles. Still waiting for the sequel to Blatherhorn Vale…

Not really. You guys went into details with what you liked. As for Blatherhorn Vale, I’m hoping to get to it someday. Trying to juggle editing 3 books at once right now. Not going well as far as time management.
