This week is where I really try to stick to my one post or 3 poems a day blogging. I also have more time with the toddler going back to school. As long as he isn’t deemed sick and sent home. My hope is that he can make it long enough for me to get some relaxation and work done.
The goals this week are going to be vague:
- Edit more of Legends of Windemere: Family of the Tri-Rune.
- Post once a day and not go scrambling back unless it’s major news.
- Prepare my stomach for Yom Kippur on Saturday. Post already scheduled for then.
- Outline a few characters for Darwin’s second story when the toddler is home unless he lets me edit.
- Think about some of the other ideas like Keys of Eden.
- Continue promoting the books on Twitter, Facebook, and keep eye open for other venues.
Those are the main goals and we’ll see what happens. The editing takes precedence over everything and the promoting is simple to do in the morning and evening. The only other thing I’m trying to make a final decision on is this:
Is it worthwhile to make a Q&A YouTube video? I’ve seen other authors do it, but I haven’t heard if it’s useful. I’m happy to accept any opinions on this. Thanks for your input on that front.

Not sure about Q&A. I forget: Do you have a trailer? (I don’t think it has to be a video, so to speak, but can have some still images, even like a PowerPoint, with text and music to generate interest.)

I have the pictures, but no trailer for either book. I have no idea how to make such a thing. I was asking around for info, but got nowhere. I did try PowerPoint a week ago and it came out terribly.

A trailer has been on my to-do list for a few months. Problem is, there are way too many things on my to-do list. If I make any more progress or run into good, affordable work, I’ll let you know. Please let me know if you get anywhere with it or find good help first. 🙂

Thanks. I’ll let you know. I have the same to-do list issue and I’m focusing on editing. Technically, I’m editing three books at once.

Hey Charles, there is this great little site called Fiverr that has services for $5. They actually do a great job. Someone from on there did the video we have for wePoets. I just went and did a quick search for “trailers for books” here is the link with some people who do book trailers. Not sure it’s what you are looking for but it’s worth a quick peek maybe 🙂 http://fiverr.com/gigs/search?utf8=%E2%9C%93&search_in=everywhere&query=trailers+for+books&x=0&y=0&jls_se99912_1_auto=1&jls_se99912_2_auto=1

Thanks. I’ll give it a look. I took a peek and saw that it doesn’t allow for many pictures, but I’ll see what happens.

Good luck sticking to your plan. It becomes hard when it depends in everybody else doing what they are supposed to do

It’s already starting to unravel too. At least I escape for part of tonight’s game.

I was thinking of a book trailer also, but I don’t know where I would put it besides Goodreads, and I am certain it counts as paid advertising, maybe, unless you can just post it to your page. I don’t know about the Q/A thing. I was going to ask my daughter’s fiance’s brother about the You-Tube type book trailer thing. He does that stuff all of the time. Another one to ask is this fellow who does The Punch Land “HUT” skits every Friday.

He does his own work. Professor VJ.

YouTube would be the way to go with a book trailer. I’m in a position of no spending money, so I’m stumped for a month or two. If you find anyone that can do it and work cheap, feel free to share.

Will ask Steve.

I think this sounds like a great plan. You are so organized. I can’t even come up with a plan! lol

It’s a flexible plan too. I say this fully expecting it to fail.

You aren’t going to fail. I have faith in you, Charles!

Already lost a chunk of today to some outside influences. Fingers crossed that I can recover.

It always does. Though after I made the post, I was told that most of this week’s dinners are my responsibility. So we’ll see how everything goes.
