Back to Goals

This week is where I really try to stick to my one post or 3 poems a day blogging.  I also have more time with the toddler going back to school.  As long as he isn’t deemed sick and sent home.  My hope is that he can make it long enough for me to get some relaxation and work done.

The goals this week are going to be vague:

  1. Edit more of Legends of Windemere: Family of the Tri-Rune.
  2. Post once a day and not go scrambling back unless it’s major news.
  3. Prepare my stomach for Yom Kippur on Saturday.  Post already scheduled for then.
  4. Outline a few characters for Darwin’s second story when the toddler is home unless he lets me edit.
  5. Think about some of the other ideas like Keys of Eden.
  6. Continue promoting the books on Twitter, Facebook, and keep eye open for other venues.

Those are the main goals and we’ll see what happens.  The editing takes precedence over everything and the promoting is simple to do in the morning and evening.  The only other thing I’m trying to make a final decision on is this:

Is it worthwhile to make a Q&A YouTube video?  I’ve seen other authors do it, but I haven’t heard if it’s useful.  I’m happy to accept any opinions on this.  Thanks for your input on that front.

About Charles Yallowitz

Charles E. Yallowitz was born, raised, and educated in New York. Then he spent a few years in Florida, realized his fear of alligators, and moved back to the Empire State. When he isn't working hard on his epic fantasy stories, Charles can be found cooking or going on whatever adventure his son has planned for the day. 'Legends of Windemere' is his first series, but it certainly won't be his last.

  1. Not sure about Q&A. I forget: Do you have a trailer? (I don’t think it has to be a video, so to speak, but can have some still images, even like a PowerPoint, with text and music to generate interest.)

  2. Good luck sticking to your plan. It becomes hard when it depends in everybody else doing what they are supposed to do

I was thinking of a book trailer also, but I don’t know where I would put it besides Goodreads, and I am certain it counts as paid advertising, maybe, unless you can just post it to your page. I don’t know about the Q/A thing. I was going to ask my daughter’s fiance’s brother about the You-Tube type book trailer thing. He does that stuff all of the time. Another one to ask is this fellow who does The Punch Land “HUT” skits every Friday.

He does his own work. Professor VJ.
