Walled and beautiful
This city born of heroic paths
Surrounding the Flooding Falls
That plunge beneath the surface
Where no man can see
Friendly people
Safe among the guards
Greeting all travels
Never fearing the brewing threats
Until the streets turn red
Legends of Windemere: Prodigy of Rainbow Tower Coming July 31st!!!!
About Charles Yallowitz
Charles E. Yallowitz was born, raised, and educated in New York. Then he spent a few years in Florida, realized his fear of alligators, and moved back to the Empire State. When he isn't working hard on his epic fantasy stories, Charles can be found cooking or going on whatever adventure his son has planned for the day. 'Legends of Windemere' is his first series, but it certainly won't be his last.
Wonderful. Hey are you putting these in your books at all?

No. They’re going to be staying on the website for now. Maybe a collection later on. I don’t have any art for them too.

I was just thinking about a Sci-Fi book I read that had verses at the beginning of the different sections of the book. It worked really well. They didn’t use art at all – just written verse. It was kind of cool π

It could be done. My series hasn’t been set up for it, but maybe one of my later ones can use it. Thanks for the idea.

Your poems give such great visual imagery. I can see the place/character in my mind. It adds another texture to the story π

I describe the characters and places pretty well in the book. Near poetry, so it’s the same. π

You should do a book of nothing but these and then use it as a giveaway to get people interested in the series. An accompaniement of sorts.

It was suggested. Do you mean like a cheap poetry eBook or a physical book? I’ll only have the 15 poems by the middle of next week, but I can write more up. Just need to figure out who gets a poem since a few characters would result in spoilers.

Ebook baby!

I could probably crank this project out in two weeks, but the cover art would be the tricky part. It always is for me.

I assume I’d need it for the eBook. Cover art is essential.

Actually, would this be something to create and use for later on? Like those supplemental books that come out for series at the halfway point.

Got it. Thought you meant right now. If I wait until the book where the final champion appears then I can make it a full collection. I might make bigger, better poems for them. Characters, locations, and maybe some of the major monsters?

Good thing you’ve got (what do I say, we’ve) got Ionia to give great suggestions…I’d say not a quicky let’s dump the poems sort of e-book, but a proper one a little bit on when you’ve put them together with a little art work.

Art work is iffy on the kindle, but I could try for a contest when the time comes. Otherwise, I’d have to pay for 40+ pics. Too expensive for a book that won’t sell much. I’d have to wait for book 7 to be out for a bit too.

Hmmm…so many considerations to be looked at!

I have time. Too early and later characters and places won’t be involved. I’m already trying to decide on how to work the later locations into poems without spoiling anything. This is why the supplementals come out so late in a series. Usually before the last book.

That’s interesting…never though about why supplementals were so late, logical though of course.

Definitely. The eternal quest to avoid putting out spoilers.
