Return of the Son of Goal Posts

Snoopy!

Been a while since I did a post about goals.  I think because they were staying the same and there have been some rough times.  I reached the point last week where whatever I got done, I got done.  Let the chips fall where they may.  For my British viewers, I mean poker chips and not french fries, which have nothing to do with France.  I’m sure this is going to be more popular in the comments than anything else.

The heatwave is relatively over here, so I can get some of my overheated mind back on track.  Having my heroes wander through a mountain of ice while in a heatwave was a little relaxing.  Although, doing research to see if hunger pangs can be undone by eating ice was an interesting adventure.  So, that brings me to the goals of the week:

  1. Finish writing Legends of Windemere: The Compass Key.  I have 1.5 chapters left, which is 5 sections and a cliffhanger, mystery discussion with no names.  I would say it’s 50/50 that I can get this done.
  2. Continue the hyping for Legends of Windemere: Prodigy of Rainbow Tower.  This includes the character and city poems.
  3. Make daily ‘What do you look for in . . .’ posts to stir discussions about themes and foci of Legends of Windemere: Prodigy of Rainbow Tower.
  4. Prepare and send e-mail for the July 30th Blog Blitz.  Just waiting for the cover art, so anyone can join in to help.
  5. Create more characters for The Slumber Wars.  Finally made one of the ‘villains’ last night and decided on the major players in each family.  Probably don’t need much detail on a lot of them.
  6. Start reading The Crimson League (The Herezoth Trilogy).
  7. Clean house over the course of the week for my son’s 4th birthday/playdate.
  8. Keep pestering Ionia.  I miss my WordPress bestie.

That’s the extent of my week and I think it’s doable.  Most of these are small, easy things and the only BIG one is the first one.  If I can get a section done tonight then I’m ahead of the game.  Fingers crossed that everything runs smoothly.  Maybe I’ll take some time to write the special blurbs for Legends of Windemere: Allure of the Gypsies if I get far enough ahead.  That sounds greedy though.  Best to leave that for next week.

About Charles Yallowitz

Charles E. Yallowitz was born, raised, and educated in New York. Then he spent a few years in Florida, realized his fear of alligators, and moved back to the Empire State. When he isn't working hard on his epic fantasy stories, Charles can be found cooking or going on whatever adventure his son has planned for the day. 'Legends of Windemere' is his first series, but it certainly won't be his last.

I don’t know … #7 and #8 may be head-to-head as to which is more important.

  2. Pretty good list. Get it done, cross ’em off, and move onwards and upwards. I live in San Diego so I’ve missed the heatwave entirely, but as someone who used to live in Phoenix, my heart goes out to you. So you’ve written two books in this series? That’s impressive, good for you. How long are they, full novels, or…?

    • Actually, the first novel is published on Amazon (Legends of Windemere: Beginning of a Hero), the second novel will debut on July 31st (Legends of Windemere: Prodigy of Rainbow Tower), aiming for a Halloween release of the third book, the fourth book is at final editing stage, and the I should be finishing the fifth book this week. They range from 300-500 pages, but they’re quick reads. I’m hoping to start writing the 6th book before the end of the year.

I got bored waiting on rejection letters for 12-13 years, so I kept planning and writing the series. 🙂
