Because I’m Just that Level of Crazy Stupid

I’m going to try to make my own poetic form.  Though, it could already exist and I never found it.  I like writing haikus and I hate writing sonnets.  I never got the sonnet pattern down.  It was really hard with a sonnet sequence, which is a set of sonnets.  So, I’m going to make a haiku sequence style.  I’m going to post the result tomorrow as my Tuesday poem and hope it isn’t horrific.

My target is a set of hakus and end on a syllable stanza of 5-7-5-7-7.  Wish me luck.

About Charles Yallowitz

Charles E. Yallowitz was born, raised, and educated in New York. Then he spent a few years in Florida, realized his fear of alligators, and moved back to the Empire State. When he isn't working hard on his epic fantasy stories, Charles can be found cooking or going on whatever adventure his son has planned for the day. 'Legends of Windemere' is his first series, but it certainly won't be his last.

Hell yeah, Charles! This is gonna be great. Can’t wait to see it. An invented form. Excellent!

    • I had another invented form, but I’m not sure how to do it. It was a converging poem where the 7 line stanza was ABCDCBA. It was designed when I thought about telling Legends of Windemere in poetic form. Each character had a different style and I designed this one for The Lich.

See, now I want to try that out. I have a notoriously difficult time with forms, but this one you did for the Lich… Did you ever finish it? If not, seems like a pretty good start to me.

      • I never got around to testing it. I might try it next week when I have more time to focus. If I can find some time to test it this week then I’ll give it a shot.
