Listen to Your Mother

A voice of warning

That your face will stay that way

You aim to prove her wrong

A voice of education

That greens will help you grow

You eat them to get dessert

A voice of preparation

That you always wear clean underwear

You never understood this

A voice of prediction

That you need a coat in case it rains

You strip it off in minutes

A voice of frustration

That she brought you in and she can take you out

You know to call her bluff

A voice of comfort

Singing you to sleep at night

You finally listen to your mother

About Charles Yallowitz

Charles E. Yallowitz was born, raised, and educated in New York. Then he spent a few years in Florida, realized his fear of alligators, and moved back to the Empire State. When he isn't working hard on his epic fantasy stories, Charles can be found cooking or going on whatever adventure his son has planned for the day. 'Legends of Windemere' is his first series, but it certainly won't be his last.
