One More Mile

Legs aching and arms going limp
You may have pushed too far
Is it time to rest?
There’s still work to do
A break will cost you, dear
Sparks are still upon your eyes
I doubt you wish to give
The finish line is too far to see
Yet you can taste it in the breeze
Surrender is not on the menu
Not while you can move
A slow breath is all you need
To claim one more mile

UNTIL THE BLOOD SPILLS

Here we are having a countdown and I’m really excited for this next chapter, or shall we say book, of my career.  With years of hard work, drafts, edits and such things that come along with publishing a book I couldn’t be any more excited than I am today.  My heart in my throat; the pep in my step.

Pre-order’s available if you just can’t wait to sink your teeth into Of Darkness and Light:

Amazon (US link, but check your country’s site), Barnes & Noble, iStore, Kobo, Smashwords.

Posting for Posterity . . . or Is It Posterior?

Leaving this here because the book (which you can see on Amazon by clicking on the cover) just did an unexpected leap.

Honestly, I do this mostly to prove it happened since the lists change so quickly.  Now back to kid wrangling.

Questions 3: What Would You Give Up?

believe-getting-closer-god-lent-ecard-someecardsWriting this while hungry, but it’ll be interesting to see what turns up.  The usual rules of answering in the comments or pinging to this post if you do it on your own blog.

  1. What do you think of the concept of sacrifice?
  2. Barring health reasons and financial restraints, what could make you give up something you enjoy for even a limited amount of time?
  3. What would it be?

Bonus Question:  What do you think about the concept of sacrifice in fiction?

Is an eBook a Book?

jorobinson176's avatarLit World Interviews

What is a book? Is it the paper that it’s printed on? Would it still be a book if all its pages were blank? Technically – yes it would, but it would be a book to write in rather than a book to be read. An eBook is a book. Even one day in the far future when we read by hologram or crystal brain implant, books will always be books. To some, the pleasure of reading a book includes the feel of it in their hands, and the pleasure of turning an actual page. These days I find reading eBooks a lot more pleasant, although I still enjoy paper now and then. Paper books cost more than eBooks because of the production costs, but at the end of the day what we are selling isn’t paper, it is the stories within. We need to look at eBooks for what…

“How old is she?” Peter asked. “And who is she?”
Gimbo smiled teasingly. “You’ll see her when you see her. I’ll take you there tomorrow.”

Here I Go Again

Good Advice?

Good Advice?

So I’m going to do something that I do from time to time, but now I’m making the request while coming to the end of a 24 hour fast.  The issue is simple:

I got nearly nothing to post about in November and December.

All I have is a post I cut from September, one on Idiot Heroes, and a week that focuses on Henchmen.  The well has run dry and I’m going to ask if anybody has any ideas.  Maybe you want to write up a guest post on a topic of your choice.  I’m always willing to host another blogger for fun.

I can try to do a bunch of Retro Posts, but I do want to have some fresh stuff.  Especially with Teaser Tuesdays getting tougher to do without spoilers or going over the KDP Select limit.  Somehow the blog is turning into more work and planning than the books.

So, volunteer a post or idea if you wish to lend a hand.  Now I’m going back to staring at a folder full of menus.
