I’ve made a lot of animal posts over the years. It’s created many conversations, especially when it’s an endangered animal. Today, I’m just going to pose some questions about animals. Might learn something interesting.

I have many favorite wild animals, Charles, so it’s hard to choose. Maybe the red wolf, which is indigenous to North Carolina, was threatened with extinction and is making a comeback with the help of the NC Zoo and other agencies.
Interesting fact: Armadillos have quadruplets every time.
Not recently, but the discovery of the coelacanth, a prehistoric fish thought extinct for 66 million years

The armadillo thing has always been interesting. Wonder if it’s due to low percentage of babies surviving into adulthood.

Too many to choose from, but wolverine. I like their hermit nature and they’re kind of all terrain guys. Interesting? Elk have two ivory teeth. The news recently said they discovered a new species of monkey.

My favorite wild animal is the White tail deer. We have a family who visit every day. An interesting animal fact that I know is cows make close friends and get stressed when separated. The animal that I recently learned existed is the Luhomero Glandular Tree Toad of Tanzania. They give birth to live young.

It’s funny. You don’t see deer picked as favorite animals that often. Fairly unique there.

Owls are my spirit animal (to borrow a bad New Age spirituality). I’ve collected owl trinkets since I was young. I like that they are powerful but observe without speaking most of the time. And, those big eyes!
Interesting animal fact: there are hundreds of bees besides the honey bees we are all familiar with.
Animal I didn’t know about: not a single one, but in Animal Crossing you catch a lot of bugs and fish, and the fish are all based on real animals in the world. (Primarily Japanese animals, since the games originate there.) I had assumed the creatures were mostly invented for the game.
