Poetry Day: I Love You, Cake

(I think this poem speaks for itself.)

You are the true centerpiece
To every wedding

You are the great reward
For living another year

You come in many sizes
And all are delicious

You come in many forms
Including rolls and sheets and towers

Your flavors are limitless
Even carrot is your type

You are not afraid of fire
Candles are your jewelry

You are our greatest friend
From the sinful dessert cart

About Charles Yallowitz

Charles E. Yallowitz was born, raised, and educated in New York. Then he spent a few years in Florida, realized his fear of alligators, and moved back to the Empire State. When he isn't working hard on his epic fantasy stories, Charles can be found cooking or going on whatever adventure his son has planned for the day. 'Legends of Windemere' is his first series, but it certainly won't be his last.

I do love a good slice of cake.

At my niece’s wedding, they had a tiny cake that was definitely not large enough for the guests. Well, the guests were given freshly made doughnuts instead. At another wedding, we were given cookies and other small desserts.

  3. A great poem in honor of cake. Good job. Now I want a piece. No, make that now I want a big piece.

Need not say I love cake, especially ones with lots of cream!

But, what I wanted to ask is what kind of a cake are you hoping to eat for your birthday this year? Me, I have less than two weeks to make a forest fruit cheesecake, which is what I want this year. Previous years, traditionally what was had was chocolate biscuit cake, but I really want a change this year, into a cake that yes, it is a cake, but it also features fruit!
