Songs of Nytefall the Series

Cover Art by Alison Hunt

We’re going to get right into it.  All of these songs made me think about the overall series, including the ending.  I really hope some people go through the series to witness the ending because I’m proud of it.  Been planning it since Mab debuted in Legends of Windemere.  Now, enjoy the War of Nytefall songs.

There is a lot of pain in this book.  Characters are battered and brutalized emotionally throughout the series.  So, a song about hurt really fits.

I play this song whenever I think about Clyde in Nytefall.  While he doesn’t really see himself as a king or true ruler, others see him as such.  The tone of the song helps me imagine him in battle as well.  I believe it also pertains to how Clyde and Xavier are basically fighting over who will be the vampire leader.

Throughout it all, Clyde holds onto his dream.  As violent and monstrous as he is, the man is a big dreamer.  Even if success means that he has to disappear from society, he wants Dawn Fangs and mortals to live peacefully with each other.  The closer things get to the ending, the more complicated this dream appears to be.

Putting a fourth one on because this is the overall series.  I always liked this song and it makes me think of stuff being ‘epic’.  It fits for all of my series, but the climactic conclusion of Nytefall really stands out.  Hoping I can get it all out to you by the end of 2021.

About Charles Yallowitz

Charles E. Yallowitz was born, raised, and educated in New York. Then he spent a few years in Florida, realized his fear of alligators, and moved back to the Empire State. When he isn't working hard on his epic fantasy stories, Charles can be found cooking or going on whatever adventure his son has planned for the day. 'Legends of Windemere' is his first series, but it certainly won't be his last.

Interesting lyrics: “I’m just a dreamer, I dream my life away
I’m just a dreamer, who dreams of better days”
Is this his “Imagine”? Has a John Lennon vibe.

  3. Thanks for sharing your songs, Charles. The Johnny Cash song always amazes me in that it is a cover for Nine Inch Nails. I guess he felt it was meaningful to him.
