The Life & Times of Ichabod Brooks: Cover Reveal & Special Poll

And here’s the cover!

The Big Day is July 3rd!

One question that I’m working on is, which story should I take the excerpt from.  Sounds like the perfect time for a poll.  Here is a link to the category that holds all of the first sections if you need a refresher.  ICHABOD BROOKS!

By the way, what do people think of a $3.99 price tag?  It’s a collection and a stand alone, so I’m trying to decide between that like the 3-in-1 collections or $2.99 like most of the Windemere books.

Almost forgot:

About Charles Yallowitz

Charles E. Yallowitz was born, raised, and educated in New York. Then he spent a few years in Florida, realized his fear of alligators, and moved back to the Empire State. When he isn't working hard on his epic fantasy stories, Charles can be found cooking or going on whatever adventure his son has planned for the day. 'Legends of Windemere' is his first series, but it certainly won't be his last.

  2. Great cover and font – it all works well, even at 300 pixels height ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ˜ƒ
I voted for The Vixen of Errenshar because the opening few lines really drew me in when you posted it ๐Ÿ˜ƒ
How many pages will the L&T be, compared to the Windemere books?
If equal or fewer, stay with $2.99
If 50 or so pages more, $3.99 would be good ๐Ÿค—

  3. I voted for Starwind Egg. It’s already been exposed, and you can draw interest without spoiling any of the others. I have no idea about pricing anymore. It’s all become dowsing to me to set a price.

  4. I voted for the Jester’s Flute because I think it shows who Ichabod Brooks is best, a father trying to do the best he can to provide for his family and uphold his morals.
As for price, I’ll happily pay .99 or $1.99 without a problem, I’ll buy an ebook at $2.99 if I really like an author, above that I’ll wait until they put the book on sale. That’s just me though, other people might have more money to spare.

    • I really should find an excerpt to highlight the family thing. I’ve heard the ‘wait for sale/free’ thing before and I think it’s fairly prevalent. I don’t do many of those because I do get messages demanding me to give my stuff away for free. Way back, I did a lot of sales and free periods. I’d always get some comments that were crows of victory like people are waiting for me to get desperate for attention. Kind of put a bad taste in my mouth for the whole thing.

      • Comments like that are rude. I never would gloat that someone lowered their price due to me nagging them. Nor have I ever asked for an author to lower their price, I think that’s rude too.
I don’t blame you for not doing free giveaways or even sales if you’ve gotten that kind of response.

I think something reflecting his family would be an unique excerpt, you don’t see many fantasy books or stories with the hero being a father.

      • It is pretty rude and kind of shocking when you’re starting out. There were also those who asked me for free copies to review when I began publishing. Never heard from them again. The indie author world has so many pitfalls that it’s a wonder anybody makes it through without a few scars.

Somebody suggested the part with Ichabod and Dex talking about his family while preparing for the mountain. I’m sort of learning toward that one because it’s the best example.

      • That is a good example, I had sort of forgotten about that one.

      • Me too. Another benefit of beta readers is they can remember details I forget.

  5. I call Toy Tower because of all the opportunities to pick out excerpts without having spoilers. I say $2.99.

Love the cover — especially since I voted for it. Pricing is something I have no experience at, so I won’t hazard a guess. And always count me in on release coverage. Happy to do it!
